What the actual fuck
I will sign this version of the Millionaires' Tax.
A new proposal from Rep. Berg ensures significant money goes to Washington families and small businesses.
Iβm pleased that a policy close to my heart is included: Free school lunch and breakfast for all Washington students.
If you're at the airport and Kristi Noem is doing the ominous little message from the TSA screens, you no longer have to do anything she says. Leave your laptop in the case, whatever.

Just got word that the Tacoma planning commission advanced a motion to fully eliminate parking mandates citywide at their meeting tonight, by a 8-0 vote with one abstention.
If implemented, Washington's second and third largest cities would have both beat Seattle to eliminating parking mandates.
My grandfather was the mayor of Cape Canaveral, FL for like 20 years
I'm listening into this meeting and am quite frustrated by what I'm hearing from callers; "why punish the 95% of good drivers by making them drive slower?"
People have died here numerous times.
Listening on the radio and knew you'd be posting this, thanks
In this edition of our newsletter, hear some updates on the SAFE Bellevue coalition, take a City of Bellevue survey on lower speed limits, check out a partner action from Futurewise, and more!

The sky really emphasizing the *all* in ACAB
Congestion charges have been enacted in quite small cities in the UK, notably Durham (population 50,000) and Oxford (population 165,000). The assumption that congestion charges are only for cities on a New York / San Francisco / Philadelphia scale is not necessarily correct.
Washingtonβs budget has actually declined by 60% overall.
Even though the stateβs yearly budget grew from $22 billion to $37 billion (adjusted for inflation) over the past 30 years, it didnβt keep up with our stateβs capacity to invest. Learn more: opportunityinstitute.org/blog/post/wa...

It is difficult to keep calm when reading outrageous speeches like these.
I have been a member of this committee before and would be happy to answer questions! It is absolutely worth your time
Bellevue has a new survey about their Safe Speeds work! Building off a pilot to lower speeds on four arterials this past year, the city wants to expand the program citywide but needs your feedback!

Today, something happened in the City of Sacramento. The beginning of something exciting. Language was filed with the city for a ballot measure to raise sales tax 0.5% to fund safe streets and transit infrastructure. It's gonna take everyone to get this passed, but together, I think we can do it. π²π
Bellevue is adding speed cushions on several slow streets throughout the city, and staff want your feedback!
Share your thoughts on common-sense measures to slow people down on streets like Main St, 156th Ave, Allen Rd, and more!
you can't work with Republicans. you can't compromise with them either. you either win or they do.
The formers in Bothell tried to brand us the same way. It's what people who have no actual argument that resonates with voters do. Just flail around making stuff up in public comment.
It's embarrassing for them, especially with the repudiation they got from Woodinville voters a few months ago.
Iβll be there with @deutski.bsky.social !!!
Still thinking about KUOW's Week in Review Friday, where former city attorney Ann Davison downplayed the role of alcohol in traffic fatalities and Sandeep Kaushik framed a 0.05% BAC level as "nanny state" (but surveillance cameras around the city that could be accessed by the federal gov are not).
The cities of Olympia, Portland, and Seattle could soon pass bills that would extend anti-discrimination protections to people in polyamorous or non-monogamous relationships. An exclusive story at #Cascadia Journal: www.cascadia-journal.com/polyamory-ri...
Feels topical to bring this article back up. So glad to have this dude on CSB's steering committee www.theurbanist.org/2025/06/16/o...
So, still just checking my understanding, are they say that by making the escalators/stairs have greater horizontal distance they don't have to dig as deep down? Cause the one formed by the stairs is the only trapezoid I'm seeing in that slide
I'd been sitting in front of King Street Station for thirty minutes at this point and only realized it was the line about 10 minutes before I took the photo, so it's been like this for a while now. There were no extra afternoon trains added afaik
Line for Sounder (! that it exists) is insane right now. Stretches down 2nd Ave
Have officially seen the Lombardi with my own two eyes
