I've spent my career being called an alarmist or naive because I believe that traffic violence (like gun violence and the violent expulsion of immigrants) is not only not inevitable, but creates prime conditions for *all of this.* They conditioned us to accept content atrocities, and we got them.

Riding home today, a guy passed me and yelled curse words out his window. When I inevitably ended up right behind him at the next light, he yelled “yeah, I said it!” I’m proud of my personal development for just smiling and laughing.

67 seems to have replaced 69 with the youngers. I teach high school band and anytime I have to say “start at measure 69,” the older kids chuckle - but my freshmen don’t. It’s all about 67, 21, 41… I predict soon all numbers will be taken over by memes and brain rot.

Vengeful answer that doesn’t solve your problem but may make you feel better: put a bean or small pebble under their valve stem cap.

This is cool, and ALMOST really well done. I’m glad Tacoma is doing bike infrastructure, especially in under-served communities. But next time let’s beef up the diverter curbs so cars can’t just drive right through them…
