*sigh* this is what I get for continue to try and finish these mittens while I’m tired. Better to sleep before ripping back and trying again.

_It begins_
We’re knitting our advent sock yarn at the Canadian Curling Trials, one stripe per draw. This might be the only photo we post “live” so we don’t spoil the colours for others.

It’s added a nice amount of space and stops the top from stretching so much.

I’m really happy with adding a little short row gusset to the afterthought heels.

I always want knitting out of both ends of the same ball to be a nice smooth process - but it’s always a twisting mess… and yet I’ll do it again.

I finished them earlier this week, although I haven’t woven in any ends on any of the pairs yet.

Day 15 (using the tour stages as counting) of the Tour de Fleece: I didn’t get a full 15 minutes in yesterday, but did get more than that in today! Most of the way through the blue section.
Out of curiosity, what made the Chinchilla really hard to spin?

Tour de Fleece Day 14: covered the last of the blue on the bottom of the bobbin just in time to start the next section of blue!
I’m not always a fan of spinning high silk contents, but this is delightful.

Got my 15 minutes in right at the end of the day before bed, so the photo quality isn’t great. Mostly just a little green addition at the top of the bobbin.

Tour de Fleece Day 10: late night spinning today, so terrible lighting. I’m happy to have covered the last of the orange leader thread poking through, and made it to the first colour change!
I’m really loving the colours in this braid! At least I have that going for me as I’m pretty sure this spin is going to last the rest of the tour 😂 what’s your next spin?

Tour de Fleece Day 9: Spinning the fibre I prepped yesterday. I forgot how much slower progress looks with such a fine weight spin.

The yarn has no real pre-planned purpose, so it’s not really concerning to me if I get yarn end up more “sibling skeins” than a true match.
Bonus: I watched the stage of the tour as I prepped.

Day 8 of the Tour de Fleece: I spent time this morning prepping. A bunch of my stash is a bit compressed, so I teased it open a bit and then very lightly pre-drafted to bring everything together.

A pair of partially finished socks sit on a black table. The cuff of the socks are black, and the unfinished feet of the socks are black, but the leg of the socks is neon rainbow stripes!
I knit the -neon- cuffs of these socks over the winter, and then rapidly realized that I did not have enough light for tiny black yarn.
I’ve pulled them both out and I’m going to try to power through them while I have the light.

Day 7 of the Tour de France: finished the neon braid! The two bobbins seem fairly different, so I think we’re looking at chain plying?
