*I'm aware of the Digital Age Assurance Act, but I think it's going to be impossible to enforce + is already receiving heavy criticism

The Greatest Films of All Time (According to Trans People)!
I polled more than 40 transgender and non-binary filmmakers, film critics, and cinephiles to find out which films trans folks connected to most. Check it out below!
Vee and their grandpa stand by the southern terminus of the Pacific Crest Trail.
Trail winds through chaparral near the California-Mexico border.
Mist fills Hauser Canyon at sunrise.
A scrubby canyon in Southern California.
The first PCT hikers of the 2026 season set off today, and I'm so excited to hear their stories + also so jealous. Record snow levels ended my 2023 thru hike early, but I genuinely think about that trail every day
DIY Methods, our little conference-by-zine about unconventional approaches to research, rises again! Maybe you'd like to make a zine on your weird/cool approach to methods, and receive a bundle of similarly weird/cool zines in the mail? Pitch submissions are due April 20th. diymethods.net

The clear answer here is papaya: it smells and tastes like a sweaty mango.

The 2026 Barkley Marathons began with one of the strongest fields ever. The starting field came from 15 Counties as well as 15 States, and included ten women. The course seemed not to care. Over 70% of the field is done. #BM100
After a brief memorial, laz lit the cigarette at 6:00am. The 2026 Barkley Marathons has begun. #BM100
Thanks! I think this is what I'll end up using
seems a bit ghoulish to hijack an email thread about saving First Monday in order to promo your AI-reviewed "journal," but maybe that's just me
Pinging the #TeamRhetoric channel: Does anyone have an accessible reading about digital blackface? This is for a team of undergrad social media interns navigating meme culture.

A rocky California coast with trees in the foreground. The colors are shifted to shades of orange and blue. The ocean is a peachy orange, and the rocks and trees are blue and teal.
Waves crashing on rocks. The ocean and sky are orange, and the rocks and shadows in the waves are blue.
A view of the coastline through tress. The water and sky are a muted orange, and the trees and land are shades of blue.

A Judith Butler Apology Form From: Date: Reason For Behaviour: [] The media convinced me that feminism was solved in the 1980s [] I never actually read their work [] I miss not thinking about gender [] I didn't realize how much of society is built on gender [] I was jealous of their nonbinary swag [] Mercury was in retrograde -- [] I will hereby respect Judith Butler and I will NOT talk down on the best feminist thinker of our lifetimes
Today, I would like to present a deep dive into feminist history that got away from me.
Like, really got away from me.
It is about the futility of a politics of appeasement. It is about the unburial of a neglected feminist history. But most of all, it's about lesbian feminism, and sins unforgiven.

Becky Chambers' Wayfarer series (four books) is also excellent! It's more mature than Monk & Robot imo because it's set in a wider galaxy w/ various tensions and histories, but still gentle sci-fi and has her usual trans/nb rep. The third book is my favorite, but they're all great
Depends on if you're focusing on Christianity or multiple traditions, but Rabbi Danya Ruttenberg (@/theradr.bsky.social) & Cindy Milstein (@/cbmilstein.bsky.social) could be good people to add!
I cried a lot playing @sunsetvisitor.studio's 1000xResist so it's a complex kind of joy, but it was also an incredible game/narrative. I've genuinely never played anything like it

@communalytic.org could probably do this
A dark green sweater sleeve with a cabled design.
One sleeve done, one to go! I've started listening to Critical Role S4, since it's basically all audio description. So far, Tyranny is my favorite
Today's goal: Finish the first sleeve on the cardigan, and make some good progress on the second sleeve before it gets too dark to see the almost-black "pine green" yarn I decided to use for this π
