Bodycam video contradicts ICE claims in fatal shooting of U.S. citizen Ruben Ray Martinez in Texas Video of last year's fatal shooting of Ruben Ray Martinez obtained by CBS News appears to contradict claims that Martinez was shot by an ICE agent because he "accelerated" and "intentionally ran over"...

DHS claimed "an ICE agent had fired 'defensive shots' into Martinez's vehicle after Martinez 'intentionally ran over' another agent."

But body cam video now "shows that Martinez's vehicle, a blue Ford Fusion, was stationary or going at a very low rate of speed when he was fatally shot."

White House: the witness’sΒ allegations are β€œcompletely baseless” and β€œbacked by zero credible evidence.”

Fact: FBI found her credible enough to interview repeatedly, and she received a financial settlement from the Epstein estate.

This will be a test re: whether the U.S. population knows who to be mad at.

CBP puts the blame on legacy IT systems. To be blunt, while these problems may be completely valid, this is entirely the fault of the government.

NEW: Federal judges have spent months ordering ICE to give detainees a chance for release in bond hearings.

Now, they're worried that the bond hearings themselves β€” conducted by Executive Branch immigration judges β€” are a farce.

I actually don’t think a college degree should t be a requirement for many positions.

Not being a corrupt, racist, asshole, however, should be a minimum.

ICE is STILL in Minnesota and STILL terrorizing communities. Reporters that say otherwise are either uninformed (which....) or lazy (which... ) or just repeating regime lies (which... is also extremely bad).

People are still missing, people are and will be traumatized, businesses demolished...

the train is absolutely more consistent timing wise, is what i’m saying i guess. it can take me 45 minutes to get out of manhattan some days!

06.03.2026 02:26 πŸ‘ 2 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 0 πŸ“Œ 0

it’s as long as it does to drive if traffic isn’t bad.
i have driven nyc to mass faster than the train, but also have driven it in twice the train time.

I deeply prefer the train experience but would love for it to be fast.

every time i take this trip i am upset it isn’t at least only 2 hours by now.

Also i am mystified by how it is possible that connecticut takes so long to go through when it is such a small state.

The fact that it takes 4 hours to take a train from NYC to Boston is insane. With an actual high speed train and direct route, that should be like, 45 minutes.

Anyway that's what I'm doing today.

It requires that the appointee be a registered Oklahoma voter in the same party as the previous senator β€” in this case, a Republican β€” for at least five years. They are also barred from running for the office in the next special or general election.

β€œWe’ve set specific eligibility guidelines for the appointee, and also prohibited the person from refiling for the office once the special term is fulfilled to protect the seat from the unfair advantage of incumbency,” Paxton said in a statement at the time. β€œThis bill encourages a robust election cycle for this important elected position, as the appointed individual is only meant to be a placeholder so that we don’t go underrepresented in the U.S. Senate.”

Intereseting tidbit re Oklahoma's Senate seat once Mullin resigns:

Yes, the OK Gov would appoint a temporary replacement, but under Oklahoma law, they would only serve until the November special election *and wouldn't be allowed to run for that.*

Seat warmer ONLY.

i think this may depend where because i would not say the subway in nyc inspires friendliness in a chit chatty way. It inspires interdependence and kindness, I think, but not the kind of β€œfriendly” i think some folks are referring to?

06.03.2026 02:03 πŸ‘ 3 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

ok fake nice was too pejorative, but the differences are seriously cultural and regional and what comes across as friendly in some of the US is deeply obnoxious in other parts.
and I truly think a lot of it has to do with density, and, yes, things like private space and cars.
