The battle of our day is no longer about Democrats versus Republicans or left versus right.

The choice right now is democracy or dictatorship. And we're sliding faster than I ever thought possible into the latter.

Everyone must choose which side they’re on. Now.

We call upon our elected representatives to stand with us and to insist upon adherence to the rule of law and the legal processes and procedures that ensure orderly change. The administration cannot choose which law it will follow or ignore. These are not partisan or political issues. These are rule of law and process issues. We cannot afford to remain silent. We must stand up for the values we hold dear. The ABA will do its part and act to protect the rule of law. We urge every attorney to join us and insist that our government, a government of the people, follow the law. It is part of the oath we took when we became lawyers. Whatever your political party or your views, change must be made in the right way. Americans expect no less.

The American Bar Association has just called upon every attorney, regardless of their political views, to join them & stand up for the rule of law & at minimum insist that our government "follow the law."

Every lawyer has an ethical responsibility to do so.

A predator, a liar, a felon, a bully, uneducated, uncouth, a failed businessman, impeached twice, orchestrated a violent insurrection… and this is who America voted to lead them. It’s breathtaking and dangerous. I hate to say it, but the civilized world needs to turn its back on the US.

How can you negotiate a peace process between two countries, one that viciously invaded the other, and not have the victim of said invasion at the negotiating table? Trump is insane. Uneducated. Uncouth. His source of all research is his own Truth Social news feed and from his far right sycophants.

What I have accepted, but will fight against: If you have wealth, influence and wealthy friends in high places, in America you can get away with pretty much anything and even, EVEN become the president of the United States. What a sad state of affairs. What a sad thing to teach our children.
