The government is trying to get people out but can't control how civilian airlines are running their operations. I think too many travelling Australians have a "the government will help me" mentality. I am surprised at the number of people who travel internationally in such a fraught world.
The coroner's finding was "drowning due to or as a consequence of a dingo attack."
I have my issues with this government, but some of these people are really annoying. This expectation that the government "should do something" when travellers get into strife overseas is entitlement plus. Travelling isn't without risk, particularly transiting through the Middle East.

I was quite happy with the GP I saw yesterday. My first appointment with her. A young Iranian female doctor. I have a chronic blood condition and am under the care of a haematologist at the RHH, so I need a regular GP. My previous GP stopped practising.
I paid $60 out-of-pocket for a short GP consultation yesterday. This was in the Hobart CBD. I can't source a GP in my suburb as their books are closed to new patients. Basically, what is being said here is that those diagnosed level 2 autistic, like my daughter, should be removed from the NDIS. The author may be a professor and a clinical psychologist, but I am the mum of an adult daughter on the spectrum. I have lived experience, 35yrs of it.

"It is difficult for people outside the tent to understand." So very true. Our daughter is level 2 autistic and the NDIS has been a big help. She has a certain level of independence but will always need support of some kind. What it must be like for this family, I can't imagine.
When you travel anywhere, you do so at your own risk. The government will do what it can, but it isn't incumbent on the government, i.e., the taxpayer, to bail you out. Overseas travel these days is a fraught exercise, and travellers need to accept that.
