This year, Bobserve has debuted a web-based, more searchable, version of the 2025 Yearly Chronicle, Check it out here: bobserve.com/yearlychroni...
I can now share the 2025 Yearly Chronicle: "I Could Tell Their Stories All Day: Bob Dylan 2025," continuing Olof's BjΓΆrner's work. Debuting this year, the Chronicle is in a searchable web-based format in addition to a pdf version. PDF: bobserve.com/olof/2025%20...
The new HARD RAIN & SLOW TRAINS explores November 1963 and "Who Did It Better?" asks who did "Fixin' to Die" better: Bukka White live at The Cabale in Nov '63 or Dylan's first take (unreleased) for his debut album. Comment below & I will include those votes when calculating the winner.
HARD RAIN & SLOW TRAINS is back with "'A Highway of Diamonds': Bob Dylan in November of 1963." Listen for free to hear all about Dylan's Nov. of '63, including his reaction to JFK's assassination: podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/h...
For those interested in the film A COMPLETE UNKNOWN, note that the blu-ray release will be including commentary by Mangold and other features: variety.com/2025/shoppin...
Bill Maher featured "Everything is Broken" as part of his most recent editorial. And he described Dylan as having a "well-earned victory lap": www.youtube.com/watch?v=f_sB...
In 1973, Dylan co-produced Barry Goldberg's self-titled album with Jerry Wexler. It is the only non-Dylan album Dylan produced. Goldberg played keyboards in the Paul Butterfield Blues Band and accompanied Dylan at Newport 1965. He passed away yesterday. www.youtube.com/watch?v=GNYj...
This morning, Garth Hudson passed away. May he rest in peace an octave above.
Just heard of the passing of Peter Yarrow. His was a passion and earnestness that helped press the forward development of the musical score to the Civil Rights movement. Thanks, Pete, you will be remembered and your voice will echo through autumn mist and 'cross the sea.
Thank you to Bobserve.com for continuing Olof's work and posting the Yearly Chronicles!
Happy to share the 2024 Yearly Chronicle...on its new home at Bobserve.com. This is the earliest we've ever finished a Chronicle! Enjoy: bobserve.com/olof/2024%20...
Memory eternal, Jimmy Carter!
Returned from seeing A COMPLETE UNKNOWN: It is f-a-n-t-a-s-t-i-c! Hard to elaborate w/more than has been said in the 100s of reviews, although I may have one or two observations in my next radio episode, Chalamet's Dylan is a better Bob Dylan than Bob Dylan's Dylan was when on tour with Tom Petty.
This release is analogous to the 50th Anniversary Collections released for 1962, 1963, 1964, 1965 (digitally as a free give to those who purchased the Cutting Edge box set), 1969, and 1970.
No. These are tracks on the new (Europe only) 50th Anniversary Collection for 1974 which is now released on Apple Music and Spotify.
1974 Anniversary (Copyright) Edition forthcoming!
Happy birthday to Noam Chomsky, who turned 96 yesterday! theconversation.com/noam-chomsky...
