While more and more people are capitalizing on interest in “decolonization of Russia,”Indigenous-led projects remain gravely underfunded (most operate on volunteer basis, in fact). This, of course, will only get worse amid the current funding crisis. Hard not to feel hopeless about our future.

Indigenous knowledge is priceless. And it seems that’s exactly why so many institutions, scholars and policy actors in a position of privilege consistently want to receive it for free (and tick a diversity box while leaving out inconvenient details).
