Thanks for the kind words. Means a lot! I am shifting to some wider release stuff and will hopefully survive while keeping my stamp on things. Fingers crossed.
Happy Halloween to you as well - thanks for reaching out!
I’ve been ghosted so many times I might as well learn to haunt.
Thanks so much!
Thanks, Sean! I’ll shoot you an email now.

I’m excited for the Oscars and I’ve enjoyed almost all of the nominated films I’ve seen - but the most exhilarating experiences I had last year were THE APPRENTICE and SATURDAY NIGHT. Both high wire acts of wizardry with excellent scripts and impeccable execution.
Thank you so much, Alison! Just put “The Apology” in my watch list - looks right in my lane.
As someone who abhors AI in any creative application, I’ll admit to one fascinating advantage: robots admit facts (for now). It’ll tell you how legally sketchy DOGE is, how effective vaccines are, and even validate gender science. Sad that the way to the truth is removing human bias and stupidity.
A wide view of the Kennedy Center across water.
I have great memories of my time at the Kennedy Center writing songs about dogs and cats and chickens for the Family Theater. The buzz in there, the walls bursting with talent and history...singular. I’m in tears today - but it’ll be back. And true artists will resist and embarrass him till then.
The Gulf of America is the only thing in the whole fucking world that I approve of deadnaming.
Finally soon-to-be Kennedy Center Honorees Hulk Hogan and Kid Rock will be recognized for their true magnificence.
Also, please strangle me now.
Cool to see this article in Collider looking back on The Witch in the Window with some kind words and insight. Near and dear to my heart, this one.
Maybe this makes me a bad little film nerd, but it was not until today that I realized Nick Nightingale from EYES WIDE SHUT is played by director Todd Field, who made TÁR, my personal fave of 2022. Fidelio!

KNOW YOUR RIGHTS.
With mass deportations starting today across the country, it is vitally important - for both citizens and non-citizens - to know your rights.
You have the right to remain silent. Assert it. You have the right to a lawyer. Ask for one.

I have no idea what this even means, unless they are referring to having conquered the local newspaper. That he seems to have conquered for sure.
I have to add my voice to the many mourning the horrific state of LA, a city I adore that’s full of many of my most adored people. I’m just stunned and gutted and helpless. Sending love to everyone there. For the rest of us, hold the city in your heart or prayers or however you do it.
Thank you!
The way I know this is a viable social media platform is my social anxiety kicked in quickly and I am now shy about sharing. But if anyone is making a starter pack for horror folks there’s room on, I’d love to keep getting connected with the community. Thanks. You all fucking rule.
Relative peace for the evening achieved by alphabetizing my movie collection and finally getting it back on a shelf after years of being in boxes. Now that I’ve done it, I can return to abject terror - but now I’m 63% more likely to watch my DVD of FREEWAY later, so there’s that.
Thanks, that makes my day.

Thank you! And thanks as well for the boost!
Anyone have podcast recs for spiraling progressives in search of doom-free news, productive optimism and activism, and/or shameless escapism? All my old haunts are tainted by either my own PTSD or their own BS.
Those who don't learn from history are doomed to repeat it.
Those who do learn from history are still doomed to repeat it as we are outnumbered by those who don't.
Today is Transgender Day of Remembrance. Each year, the trans community loses too many lives, especially trans women of color, to hate and violence.
More than ever, we must stand by our trans family and support them, hold space for them, and insist the scapegoating and targeting stop.
Now.
Imma need some of you to think about thriving out of spite. I had big plans for 2025 and I’m definitely not gonna pre-derail them for likes of Elin and Tromp. I’m getting more involved. Loving harder. Writing hornier. Having more fun. I’m gonna be so kind to my neighbors, bitch.
Post a perfect album from the ‘90s that isn’t Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, or Alice In Chains.
