I think for awhile, I didn't even notice how tidy and careful my pencil work was getting, because something in my brain kept telling me "pencil drawing = sketch", but... that's not a sketch, lol. that's lineart done with a pencil.

the next time I open up for real, proper-style commissions, I'm afraid I'm going to have to re-define what constitutes a "sketch", because somewhere along the line my definition stopped meaning the pic on the left, and started meaning the one on the right
