Telegram has had its own problems for years now. Forcing all users to pay just so they can unlock the setting to prevent messages and spam from unknown contacts should've been the point people realized it was time to just bail.

People are more upset over gas prices than the wanton death. It is almost starting to make sense when Charlie Kirk said he thought empathy was a fake, made up word. I think most Americans actually don't have the ability to emphasize with "the other", they can only sympathize with commonalities.
Screenshot of an X post by Dan Scavino reading, βHappening Now in the Oval Office at the @WhiteHouse. God Bless the USA!β with prayer, heart, U.S. flag, and eagle emojis. Below is a photo inside the Oval Office showing Donald Trump seated at the Resolute Desk while a large group of men in suits stand around him in a circle with heads bowed and hands extended in prayer. American flags, gold drapes, and framed portraits are visible in the room.
βIran is run by religious fanatics.β
Damn these are just so good!
Once again, the FCC is coming after Colbert. This time they're refusing to allow CBS to air an interview of James Talarico, a Dem Senate candidate from Texas. So we all know what to do, right?
First they said critical ICE detention footage was "destroyed." Then, lost in a system crash. Then, never recorded.
Now, in the latest court docs, it shows the federal government lost three hard drives it was supposed to put footage on in a case where ICE detainees say they faced inhumane abuse.
Let's do this.

A video of Alex Pretti reading out the final salute of an unnamed veteran he cared for until the end of his life in the ICU, posted to Facebook by his son.
That's awesome, congrats you two!
As a Texas fur I've met conservative furries, they own some serious firepower just like typical conservatives. So depending where the con was it wouldn't be as soft a target as one might think.
they're executing moms and nurses in the street. they're using preschoolers as bait. they're stealing people's dads and grandmas and children. they're tear gassing babies. they're staking out schools. there is no remedy but abolition. any proposal that doesn't start there is an act of violence.
An administrative warrant does not grant legal entry into a person's residence without consent. They can show up and pretend it does hoping for a naΓ―ve invitation to come inside, but they certainly are not legally authorized to break down a door and enter. Which they're now doing.
As an American I say Europe absolutely should. Seriously, Europe needs to stop humoring him. Treat him like the child he is and don't reward or dignify his theatrics. Give a bully an inch and he will take a mile... oops, let me translate that. Give a bully a centimeter and he will take a kilometer π
Trump was under four federal prosecutions prior to his election, and none of them reached any conclusion before he got back into office. Any investigations outside the court system can just be halted by the subsequent prez when it all flips again, even before they just mass pardon anyone/everyone
Why would they need to, you've never had a problem getting your rocks off the screen before now!

Screenshot of a tweet by James Tate reading, βAn educated populace is a threat to power.β The tweet includes a quoted graphic stating that ICE is offering a $45,000 signing bonus and $100,000 starting salary, compared to a teacher earning $55,000 in their eighth year with a masterβs degree, arguing that education has been intentionally defunded.
Our governmentβs priorities are entirely backward. And purposefully so.
So what you're saying is, when cats knock over the tree they're simply trying to restore truth in advertising. Their human bought an Xmas tree, so the cat is making it an Xmas tree. Yet the poor thoughtful felines are somehow made to be the villain!
Lovely view!
Been struggling with anhedonia for awhile. May or may not be from a mild but long term depression, I have no idea. It's incredibly easy to just sink into it with everything going on in the world right now and knowing the future will just be worse. But that's how they win.
PSA: Our roadmap for 2026:
screenshot of a post on facebook from Alex Lamoreaux, depicting two versions of the "same" photograph of a bobcat in front of a pine plantation, one labeled original game cam photo, one labeling AI processed the markings have been altered on the AI photo, and the head changed and resized text says: Oh! A neat goose hybrid posted to βWhatβs this Bird?β but when you zoom in on the photos the bill details have been too manipulated by AI photo editing to be accurately assessed for which species may be involved. Scroll onβ¦ A cool-looking Red-tailed Hawk that someone is wondering which subspecies it might be - right up my alley! But when you zoom in on the photos literally every feather group has been so heavily manipulated and altered by AI editing that itβs impossible to determine subspecies because the photo is essentially fake now; just a mashup of whatever AI thinks parts of a Red-tail should look like. Scroll onβ¦ WOW! Thatβs a remarkable trail cam photo of a Bobcat! It almost looks like a painting!β¦ but the head looks oddly smallβ¦. hmmmm. After some prodding the original photo is produced and sure enough it had been so heavily altered by AI βpost processingβ that the photo posted was essentially a digital mock-up with totally different proportions and fur markings. No longer the photo off the trail cam; it may as well have just been βcreatedβ by AI from scratch. This stuff is killing me. My days on social media are becoming very limited. We canβt even trust simple, everyday photos of animals to be real. The wildlife community needs to quit editing with AI, and we need to start calling out photographers that are using it. Our reality is being destroyed all around us.
this field biologist does a great job highlighting the insidiousness of AI editing
these one-click AI edit buttons are incredibly appealing to many photographers, amateurs and professionals alike, and are framed as innocuous
this is worth sharing and educating people about

Look where this vile man has dragged us down to.
Tweet showing Laura Loomer praising Pete Hegseth for taking questions at the Pentagon. Image shows Hegseth standing at a Pentagon podium with reportersβ seats visible.
Laura Loomer, Matt Gaetz and Mike Lindell TV are now among the Pentagon βpress.β It's not impressive to answer fake questions from fake reporters. It's propaganda.
Cancel this. Make them go on the exchanges
That's similar to a concern of mine... Even before AI was a thing it was typical for interactive systems to usually be given voices of young white woman to make them appealing for males. I really don't want to be bombarded by that constantly from every single AI system for the rest of my life...
A tweet from James Surowiecki reads: βThis tweet is a perfect encapsulation of the MAGA understanding of presidential power: since Trump was elected, he can do whatever he wants, ignore the Constitution, and ignore the law. But that's not how US democracy is supposed to work. The president is not a king.β Below it, he quotes Meghan McCainβs tweet, which says: βI donβt understand how Trump is a King when he won every single swing state, the electoral college and popular vote in a democratic election.β
Unfortunately this particular McCain apple fell far from the family tree.
A tweet from MeidasTouch reads: βShe canβt work for her constituents because you wonβt swear her into her job. My god these people.β Below, a tweet from Aaron Rupar quotes Mike Johnson saying: βRep. Grijalva should be working for her constituents right now. I don't know what she's doing. I keep seeing their political stunt videos. She should be in her office.β The image shows a CNN broadcast with two men in split-screen β anchor Jake Tapper on the left and Mike Johnson on the right β with a headline reading: βGOVERNMENT SHUTDOWN DRAGS INTO 16TH DAY.β
The Epstein Files must be really bad for his boss.
