No problem, I have been wanting to know the answer as well, this is taking way way too long to get built after being approved.
They did not vote against the Antigua St cycleway part though

Parakiore* typo copied from council doc
Council minutes showing Antigua St changes carried
Council agenda attachment showing Antigua St changes extra $1.25m in FY26
Council is now intending to build it to allow completion to align with the opening of Parakiori. Hopefully it actually gets built this time!
Here are some screenshots of the council docs from 10 December.
It is a separate project to Parakiore, but council voted on 10 Dec to add more budget for it and include it in FY26 Annual Plan. Was previously approved way back in May 2022 but was delayed for various reasons, was last scheduled for construction in April 2024. bsky.app/profile/jono...

Cody Cooper says he is trying to make the city better. He stands with an example of his work - the curb, while not perfect, was repaired after a man fell through it getting off a bus and Cooper reported it.
When Cody Cooper sees a cracked footpath, fallen tree or broken sign, he calls it in.
Now the Christchurch City Council has grown so frustrated with the volume of his requests that a senior staff member suggested “we should ban him for life”. www.thepress.co.nz/nz-news/3605...
I was in Cody’s meeting with staff. My take is: the council customer support management software is not fit for purpose, particularly the integration with SnapSendSolve.
Banning someone for providing *too much* feedback is the wrong solution here
Why shouldn't issues like pot holes, broken footpaths, smashed pedestrian rails, dumped rubbish, broken street signs, broken next-bus screens etc be reported? Council staff are free to prioritise them or ask for more resources
By default council will not update SSS reporters on progress. You can respond to their "We've received your request" email to choose to "receive updates" but it never seems to work. Definitely a lot of room for improvement in the systems they use
A map of Redwood in north Christchurch, New Zealand. A poorly drawn red line shows that the distance between the crossing outside redwood library to the next crossing at Prestons Road. The gap between these is almost 400 metres.
Now that Main Nth Rd has been handed back to the Christchurch City Council I’m keen to see it redesigned to turn over more road space to pedestrians, and in particular add more pedestrian crossings.
Like this bit near my house has almost 400 metres between crossing points.
It's been a day in NZ politics.
A short and probably incomplete list:
1) the govt has canned 60% of kianga ora's housing projects. That's 1019 no longer being built.

In summary:
Simeon Street Cycleway: PASSED
Te Aratai College Cycleway: PASSED
Wheels to Wings: DEFERRED
Though Wheels to Wings will be built for a very small section, just to connect the Northern Line and Nor'West Arc Cycleways, and a small amount of safety improvements
Council votes to delay wheels to wings again, after previously voting to approve it around two years ago. What a waste of time and effort and money.
Debate is underway! Cr Jake McLellan and Deputy Mayor Cotter are pushing Option 4 for Wheels to Wings, which builds the cycleway about half way. Cr Templeton is also pushing an amendment for the Te Aratai College cycleway being included in the Annual Plan.
Port side infra needed too tho
Transporting NZ published a report which "produces evidence to counter the ideology that rail can be a serious competitor to road freight in NZ" they are not who should be asked about the importance of the new ferries being able to take freight trains. www.transporting.nz/press-releas...
Where "rail compatible" means nothing of the sort and the association that represents road freight transport businesses is asked if they are worried about the continuing viability of rail freight (their competition). Make it make sense newsroom.co.nz/2024/12/09/f...
Tomorrow, the Council will make a decision on the Wheels to Wings Cycleway (once again, possibly for the fourth time). There are eight options, with the likely result being a deferral to varying extents and limited construction. Keep an eye out for our coverage!
Christchurch had New Zealand's first public railway. 161 years later, we have no Commuter Rail services. How can we fix this injustice?

Finally a result after a long time and a lot of work by many people
I know where some cabbage tree wood is, can you use that?
Wide freshly asphalted road in an industrial area
No idea if it reaches 50%, but it is a large amount for sure. Especially in Chch with our wider roads
A car parked where a large tī kōuka cabbage tree used to stand
tī kōuka cabbage tree cut down into pieces
aesthetic tī kōuka cabbage tree before it was cut down
Cars are also to blame for loss of trees in our cities. Here a large tī kōuka cabbage tree was cut down
I don't know if that part goes to Bishop
That includes a 0m walkable catchment from the edge of the city centre zone at the north end of Victoria St at Bealey Ave. Surely that doesn't meet the requirements of the NPS-UD.
Today Christchurch city councilors voted to allow more housing in outer suburbs like Hornby and Belfast but not just outside of the four aves. They limited the city centre walkable zone upzoning to inside the four aves as the IHP surprisingly recommended.
Tim Scandrett asked about panel beaters making noise late at night annoying new residents. Looking on google maps the latest any of them are open is... 5.30pm
Harrison-Hunt reiterates: the time is now to remove these restrictive heritage listings on places like Antonio Hall.
“We need some options for renters, homeowners and students in Riccarton”.
Will support expanding the CCZ catchment.
Ridiculous from Deputy Mayor Cotter. More housing close to the city centre would be a good thing!
