An hour before Christmas Day - all the money spent, gifts wrapped, food organised, - sitting down watching news from Syria, Gaza, Ukraine etc etc on TV and wondering how those people carry on.
I don’t feel the Christmas spirit all of a sudden.

That look is scary - yet strangely attractive.

Kids are told that a university degree is a must to succeed in life, not surprising then that they look down on learning a trade. Not many bricklayers, carpenters, steel fixers, roofers etc. with phd’s or degrees!

Had all the jabs (and sugar cubes) at school in the 60s & 70s, every one offered since, including COVID, flu, malaria etc.
No regrets.

UK people- how much smaller can they make tubs of Quality Street, Roses etc. before we stop buying them. Now 600 g including wrappings!!

Serious question - under what emergency circumstance would you use your gun?
I have never held a gun ( other than at a fairground), I don’t know any one who owns a gun and I can’t conceive ever taking someone’s life on purpose. I am 60years+ and just don’t understand the fascination with firearms.

Surely the biggest contributing factor is the availability of guns and the unique American gun culture .
Or am I missing something?

I’ve been on this platform for quite a while - looking for an escape route from the toxicity that has pervaded X.
I have 4 followers - I must be the most boring and ineffectual person here.

I just want an easy life without being bothered by divisive, misleading and false content so I’ll give threads another go.

I will give Bluesky a go but I find the format a bit strange after being used to X.
I suppose it’s the content that matters really.

I signed up on this a while ago but haven’t used it much. I’m struggling with making the break from X but I’m getting closer to jumping ship permanently- can I have honest opinions about the best primary alternative to X— BS, Spoutible Threads etc.
