Today's speech by the Home Secretary marks a dangerous shift to a system where rights are negotiable, discrimination becomes policy & state coercion is reframed as a cost-cutting measure.

If the Government continues down this path, it will not outflank the far-right but normalise it.

Mahmood to stop study visas from four countries due to 'abuse' The government will end study visas from Afghanistan, Cameroon, Myanmar and Sudan, due to what she says is abuse.

Afghanistan, Cameroon, Myanmar & Sudan will find their citizens all losing the ability to come here legally on study visas, while Afghanistan is also losing skilled visas.

This is a form of collective punishment and is deeply discriminatory.

I spent a year in an asylum hotel. I was beaten up and lived on £9 a week Azzar faced death threats in Saudi Arabia but in Britain, he was attacked, harassed and 'not treated like a human'

Another harrowing reminder of why asylum hotels are not suitable for anyone.

Community accommodation is safer, more dignified and far, far cheaper than either hotels or military camps. Everyone deserves a real home in a community.
