It’s important to remember that billionaires are parasites with a vested interest in persuading you they are predators.
It wasn't "cancel culture" when women and people of color got used up, silenced, and dismissed before their careers even began. It only became "cancel culture" when powerful abusers started having established careers momentarily inconvenienced by revelations of what they'd done.
It's all part of enshittification. How low can the bar go before everything crumbles. We are seeing it at my job and I spend so much time fixing the stupid AI shit people hand to me.

Sedgwick’s prescription is “reparative reading,” a theory of more flexible sense-making that can hold truth and provide an antidote to the overwhelming paranoia of our times. While the conventional wisdom states, “Just because you’re paranoid doesn’t mean you don’t have enemies,” Sedgwick turns this formula on its head: “Just because you have enemies doesn’t mean you have to be paranoid.” Or to put it another way, having a direct understanding of systemic oppression (the healthcare system, police violence, the fascist state) does not condemn a person to a categorically paranoid point of view. To practice a worldview more expansive and more open to possibilities than paranoia does not mean you have to deny the reality or gravity of oppression.

we were at a school assembly this morning. and hearing em laugh and cheer and be kids, all that brightness, you really can't help but feel deep in your gut that it takes unthinkable evil to intentionally hurt and kill children anywhere. the world leaders massacring kids are beyond lost to humankind.
