Yes, and a cold war solution of deterrence

This is @2aspirin’s account for posting about art. I made art just in my head for a long time, but with some long ago limited experience in illustration and then taking photos for years as an outlet. I mostly paint now!
Yes, and a cold war solution of deterrence
The technologicus species of humans float upright in an otherworldly sea of connections. While reaching in the classic manner of Eve to the apple tree, it is, in fact, a mobile phone she holds. They have aviators and helmets on while in their garden of eden birthday suits.
A kind of Adam and Eve Technologicus. She is holding a phone in her claw hand.
For more on these themes, some of what I share on my new website might help. Setting intention: I will not be an artist hiding under a rock.

Lolol Mirror story advert from The Mirror.
It’s so wildly annoying. No one asked for this.
Unironically, Japan does not allow Ritalin for ADHD at all, but does for narcolepsy.
I was expecting the examples to have real gravitas. Or compete with original thought. But no. Not at all. Criticizing using it as a search engine to get options for outings/events is a cheap shot. Why not instead value having better things to do than sort through regular search engine options?
Exactly. We can also eschew the logical fallacies of bad argument that has dominated the political scene. This was the right decision on its own merits. But many drs/APNs had been adjusting appropriately for years now. So this is also no pivot in terms of practice. Admin gets to formalize it though.
Thanks! (Says the artist who has not checked this acct in a month! 🤪)
Girl holding cobalt pigments in front of a quilt of mostly 1930s fabrics. A bronze rabbit hovers above her outstretched hands. She is viewed through a portal of earth and metal hues. Cobalt blue drips from the edge of the portal. This painting is about art itself.
Portals are on my mind. Oil paint over acrylic paint and inks. #art #artsky #oilpainting
The Prisoner of Chillon (flipped), by Eugène Delacroix, 1834
This matters so much. We are experiencing far more humans on screens-only than in real life. I quit my tech/healthcare investing job to make art with paint, canvas and paper in a studio. Sometimes I also make art about robots and tech coming for us but I don’t really post those online.
Oil painting on Stonehenge paper (which I love, texture-wise, like board, for detailed rendering). Limited gamut masking palette.
Restaurant in Asheville, NC at closing time.
References were old photos from a decade ago.
There are a few wonky spots to clean up. 🧽 📏 📐 🎨

I forgot to mention: This was in Black Mountain, NC
I am not a big social media person as an artist so have to remind myself to come around and post some things. Here are 4 recent 5x7 inch oil paintings! Metal objects series. #art #oilpainting #metal
Flashback to something more abstract from 2.5 years ago. #painting
Collage, for a change-up:
Lovely. 😑
Painting of a window seat area, in a blue room. The sun has broken through mist after rain, seen outside.
This oil painting: A moment in a copper rectangle.
Speaking of rectangles, need to work on the left side casement window that is propped open.
Wait till they find out about 💧 ~evaporation~ to also make STEWS.
The purpose if this was to paint fast. This was a real change-up for me. It’s a loose style.
I could see doing a series of small paintings, likely leave unframed and make them available for sale at October’s POST (Philadelphia Open Studio Tours) weekend.
I am more partial to the one on the left:

A friend applied for residency in Portugal and got it. Doesn’t have connections. Just picked it. Selling house, moving there. Crash coursing language studies.
Gorgeous. Electric texture.
Good madness. #oilpaint #studio #artstudio

My daughter in my new studio space. I hear gunfire the whole time from the shooting range across the street but I don’t mind. I do indulge the surreal and our relationship to our time and to technology - and the ice cream truck rolls around and plays its music alongside the gunfire. #philly #studio
