If a new app was produced which had, as its core features, the generation of sexual deep fake images of children and calls for a violent global far-right revolution, then not only would it be swiftly banned, but you wouldn't have a single mainstream politician willing to associate themselves with it
This call for a quick, knee jerk response to Trump goes against my personal views. This shouldnβt be controversial
Foreign policy isnβt a pissing contest. Statements are calibrated to protect Ukraine, keep allies aligned and preserve leverage. Loud words are easy. Responsible outcomes are harder.
Everything in this thread is bang on point and should be read by everyone- especially those who refuse to see the Russian threat and are still playing on old Cold War settings
Even I have to say it's a compelling image
Sky News is a total cess pit
GB News is nothing short of a hate-filled propaganda arm for the far-right
I've just read her speech and I'm not seeing where she 'warned of a fiscal black hole'. She does say this 'β¦each of us must do our bit for the security of our country and the brightness of its future. ..., To build more resilient public finances β with the headroom to withstand global turbulenceβ¦
Some brass neck this. Jeez

Nothing for the Tories but oblivion or a merge with Reform with this kind of brain-dead nativism
Robbie Gibbs' man. Bereft of even basic journalistic ethics
100% this - the Tories genuinely provided a sense of 'permacrisis' they could feed off of. Without that they've just decided to make it up every day. Politics as a soap opera and it's damaging the whole system
Think the link is broken here
I mean it's easy to single out Johnson or Truss as obvious exceptions but surely this man has heard of Eden - lasted 18 months with Suez in the middle of that.
Terrible back injury?
Only one thing to do - the return of Johnson - else it's a steady flow of defections leaving a shell of a party behind
Stares in UK
Sir Thomas More: βWhat would you do? Cut a great road through the law to get after the Devil?β
Roper: βYes, I'd cut down every law...β
βAnd when the last law was down, and the Devil turned 'round on you, where would you hide ...? Yes, I'd give the Devil benefit of law, for my own safety's sake!β
Read this with increasing frustration. Then saw it's written by Luke Tryl - he of More In Common so hardly surprising. Also Dudley and Merthyr were iirc strongly Leave voting areas so some basis for Reform support already there for a long time
Sam suggests that Trump might drop sanctions in return for Putin buying a cybertruck. Dmitry responds that this might work as an assassination attempt.
I give you the double act of @samfr.bsky.social and @explaintrade.com
Indeed. Predicting something along the lines of Starmer's foreign exploits mask deep problems at home / Reform surge etc. Same old
The Tories really are gone aren't they. Can see them realistically dropping below 20% at this rate
He did and I reckon that was as much about Reform as about the AfD
It was astonishing and appalling in equal measure. Guess he thought he was being edgy but shows how utterly dumbed down the Today programme has become
Pen definitely
Out of his depth
