Adobe has now clarified that Animate is not being discontinued, though many creators are still exploring alternative animation software options.

If you cannot afford Toon Boom, here’s an alternative program that I’m currently using for 2D animation called Opentoonz. It’s like a free open source alternative to toonboom

I hate Adobe with a passion, so I wanted to share this for animators looking for an alternative to Adobe Animate.
(I do appreciate that it's not quite as simple as using another program for some of you, but the discount seemed worth sharing)
Called and spoke with Adobe customer support and the guy told me Adobe is discontinuing Animate because apparently the company can't think of any new features to add to the program and they feel it's gotten stale.
So they're just GETTING RID OF IT???
