Doctor Who spin-off's Ianto's Shrine in Cardiff to be taken down after 17 years Fans are "devastated" that Ianto's Shrine will be removed for health and safety work at Mermaid Quay in Cardiff.

I've just read that Ianto's shrine is being taken down after 17 years. As far as fictional deaths go, this has to be up there with Grace Archer, Ernie Bishop, and the end of Blakes 7.

Liverpool have a BSL interpretor signing You'll Never Walk Alone at Anfield. Brilliant idea. #LFC #YNWA

Proper leather casey? Imagine heading that bad boy when it was wet.

I was just amused that the Ofcom director of enforcement for pornographic websites is called George Lusty.

It gets even more complicated. It's Zootropolis in many countries, because Disney couldn't trademark Zootopia, and it is called Zoomania in Germany, because it sounds too similar to a children's book called Zootopolis.

It's funny the things that get dragged into the Doctor Who feed on Bluesky. I've just been scratching my head trying to remember that episode...

Wasn't that because he had no lead actor signed up, he had wanted Christopher Eccleston to appear but he couldn't convince him to appear, and didn't know if he was going to be producing the next series or not. There are actually quite a few similarities.

That's a pleasingly retro programme cover. It wouldn't feel out of place in the 1980s.

Cast your vote now: Who are Liverpool's Greatest? - Liverpool FC Cast your vote now in a huge new club poll to decide Liverpool's Greatest.

Liverpool are compiling an updated list of "Players Who Shook The Kop":
www.liverpoolfc.com/news/cast-yo...

I suspect that the results will suffer from recency bias, although they are combining it with an expert selection for those that don't know who Elisha Scott or Gordon Hodgson are.

I saw a comment on The Guardian, which was that being a right back for Liverpool is like being an extra on Star Trek: when you are handed a red shirt, you know it isn't going to end well.

My mobile phone alert sound is a Tardis noise. Usually, it's fairly unique, but I was at a Doctor Who convention when it sounded off, and half a dozen people checked their phones.

A quick question from a Liverpool fan to any Sunderland fans.

What is the origin of using Dance of the Knights by Sergei Prokofiev as the walk-on music at the start of the match, other than it being an epic piece of music?

I really should be more confident about the Sunderland vs Liverpool match, but all I can think is, do they still have that beach ball? #LFC

There is a continuity from the end of Planet of The Spiders though to Zygons with Harry looking after the newly generated Doctor. Season 26 is all about Ace's backstory - although does that could as an arc?

Doctor Who "The Seeds of Doom" DVD box cover with Tom Baker on the cover.

Doctor Who "The Seeds of Doom" DVD box cover with Tom Baker on the cover.

Part Two of Doctor Who's Seeds Of Doom was broadcast this day in 1976. I remember it well. We watched it at my birthday party!

It's a bit of a classic, so it seems like a good idea to watch it for my birthday this year.

I think platforms like this don't always allow for nuanced discussion. 300 characters is a bit of a limitation.

That said, I haven't found you to be rude or abusive. Opinions are opinions. Everyone is entitled to one.

I really did a double take on that. There was a professional double who used to appear on The Last Leg, but he disappeared when Klopp stopped using glasses.

I thought that casting was deliberate, as they wanted to show that the Doctor had messed up reality, hence gravity becoming "mavity".

Seems odd to single out what was a fantasy series. And that was nothing compared to what they did to The Beatles!

I bought the Jodie Bluray set when she disappeared from German telly, and I really enjoyed rewatching her series. Not necessarily my favourite Doctor or series, but solid episodes and a great lead actor. Each actor has to do their own take, and she absolutely nailed it.

It's years since I read the book, but I remember that some major characters would disappear for a couple of hundred pages at a time. I suspect if it was remade today it would be split into 2 films - probably more down to commercial considerations than narrative ones.

I visited the site of the Bergen-Belsen concentration camp last week. There is little of the original site left other than the mass graves looming over memorials.

It may have been the ambient noise on a quiet day, but the whole place felt haunted.

Will we ever learn from the past?

Dry January is bollocks anyway. It's cold, miserable, not much to look forward to for months, and you get Burns night and half-arsed football matches to deal with.

Have a pint and give it up for Lent or something.

I thought this may be of interest to Beatles fans. It was a giant banner (tifo) displayed before the Champions League football match between Marseille and Liverpool last night.

A lovely touch from the French fans.

Tom Baker is 92! My father was born on exactly the same day and just a couple of miles away from him.

He died when I was quite young and sometimes wonder what he would have been like today. I'd like to think he would be like Tom: still full of humour and mad as a box of frogs.

Happy Birthday Tom!

I think Planet Of The Spiders is rather underrated. I watched it when it was
originally on and enjoyed it. I saw it decades later with my own kids and was surprised at the depth. Lots of Barry Letts DNA through it.

It also has a bonkers extended chase scene, presumably for Jon's benefit.

I get the impression from Israeli fans that the ultras are given free range to cause trouble. If you combine that with British based hooligans who wanted to cause trouble and attack random Muslims, then it was the right decision.

Just don't ever expect the government to side with British citizens.
