I just canβt do it, it makes me so viscerally uncomfortable but Iβm also team donβt yuck anybodyβs yum. So if someone likes that, love that for you.. but as for me and my brain? No
Nobody asked but here are my thoughts on age gap romance books:
β’as long as theyβre both adults when they meet and the younger half is at LEAST in their 20s, Iβm a fan
β’NOT a fan if they are related or family in any way including step and/or adopted family members
I genuinely believe that my children have some kind of super power that allows them to bed fast asleep but wake up the second I decide to get out of bed a little early and read.
Itβs like clockwork every time.
I canβt even judge, I didnβt watch it all the way through for the first time until I was I think 19 or 20 because my parents thought it was a βdark and demonicβ show
Theyβre honestly so delightful, well written, and the men (so far) are such simps that it fills me with joy.
I saw @gremlinlibrarian.bsky.social talking about the Prime Mating Agency series MONTHS ago and never picked them upβ¦ until yesterday morning and now Iβve finished book 1 and Iβm halfway through book 2 (Iβm obsessed) π
I should have listened to them sooner
To be clear, Jackie is a side character, the mains are lovely
Update: Jackie is the WORST. Absolute worst. GARBAGE. Will fight her in a Waffle House parking lot.
For Valentines Day my little were nice enough to gift me with β¨the fluβ¨ so Iβll be here, in bed, reading this queer read about two besties who get fake engaged so they can get fake married so one of them can get a green card (spoiler alert they fall in loooveee)
OH and thereβs autism rep
I do have my state library, QLL (theyβve been coming in clutch with audiobooks lately), and might look into adding others
Same, I also make it a point to read books I own physical copies of through KU too, mostly so the author can milk as much money from the zon as possible
that has an abysmally small queer book collection (my local library has a total of 3 shelves in the entire 2 story building for queer books) and KU is SO GAY. Itβs really been carrying my queer reading for a while now because my library just doesnβt buy books I suggest anymore.
I already have a kindle, that I got as a gift from my parents a few years ago and I will use it until it falls apart. I pay for my little kindle unlimited subscription with gift cards I get from my Ibotta rebates because BROKE.
I also live in a red state with a library system
Iβm gonna level with yβall.
As much as I hate Amazon and Jeff Bezos, realistically I donβt think Iβll ever be able to give up my kindle or kindle unlimited. There are so many reasons for this but honestly what it boils down to is: Iβm broke and Iβm queer.
I know weβre in the bad place because Mitch McConnell and I actually agreed about something.
Describe your taste in people using actors:
BEFORE YOU COME FOR ME. Half of wrestling is acting so Rhea counts.
I donβt know how to explain it but it feels like theyβre all the same vibe but different fonts.
Yall need templates? #booksky
I think I could tolerate it better if I didnβt have 3 kids.
Thank you love π₯Ή right now our struggle is just finding the right house. Every one that weβve loved has had at least one glaring issue pop up and itβs so frustrating π
Once we buy this house, I swear Iβm never moving again.
Home buying is stressful, moving sucks, and I donβt wanna do it again π
Iβve been slacking on my book recs so letβs change that.
If you too have felt the crippling weight of familial expectations, hate family vlog channels, and have memory problems (that arenβt magically induced)
Read Spells to Forget Us by Aislinn Brophy
I need some kind of background noise but that comes with my neurodivergent need to never be in silence.

KNOW YOUR RIGHTS.
With mass deportations starting today across the country, it is vitally important - for both citizens and non-citizens - to know your rights.
You have the right to remain silent. Assert it. You have the right to a lawyer. Ask for one.

As the transgender community continues to fight for civil rights in the U.S., one of the most common arguments against progress is that transgender people are a recent phenomenon.
But itβs a fight thatβs been happening here for decades and around the world for centuries. ‡οΈ
We looked at a couple of different houses today and really got a feel of what exactly we want, the goal is to be in a home by July when my middlest starts school
We went house hunting today and if thereβs one note I can give anybody who is selling a home, PLEASE put some salt down if thereβs gonna be snow and/or ice. I saw my life flash before my eyes when I slipped on ice on someoneβs driveway and it ruined the vibes of the home π
Thatβs the worst part, they have their own but claim mine is better π
Iβm trying to do my bedtime doom scroll on YouTube shorts instead of my usual TikTok scroll and itβs AWFUL
My kids use my YouTube account so every 3rd video is
skibbidi toilet or something skibbidi adjacent π
