That said, of course visual novels are entirely valid as their own art form.

They allow us to express ourselves in ways traditional games couldn't. I don't think Glory Hounds would be "better" as a traditional game for example.

I personally enjoy the story with pictures and music format of VNs.

Also, VNs are far more accessible and feasible to make if you're new to creating.

Like, I'd LOVE to make a Streets of Rage style game ("Streets of Schippersburg" anyone? 👀), but I have almost zero know-how of game dev, and little mental bandwidth to build such a massive new skill set.

Also budget.

10 years ago today that I lost one of my best friends.

An event that served as the catalyst for lots of things, including me embracing furry and all that. So much has changed.

I gym w/ Redd on Fridays and the rest of the week I fly solo, and there's always something missing if I'm by myself even if it's efficient. XD

She was terrified of spiders and I had a toy tarantula that I scared her half to death with once.

I got an earful about that one from my mom lol.

(in my defense, I was like 9 and I had no concept of phobias yet)

Said friend was actually a really, genuinely sweet lady who could absolutely shut up and listen if you needed her to.

Her default mode was just unstoppable chatterbox haha.

She was also really good at making pastries and would always bring some whenever she visited (once every other week or so).
