Some solid rounds of Marathon tonight, including the first one where I intentionally did some objectives. Got some plot. But the main thing was a chill time with a buddy, which made all the ??? of what to do a lot more fun.

I hadn’t read this one before. It’s a really good piece! I gotta finally get to playing the game, too.

I’m very bad at online shooters, but I like the parts where I’m running and crawling around the day-glo plastic ruins.

I think playing Pacific Drive showed me the “extraction” part can be cool, I’m just not sure I’ve got the mandatory level of interest in the “shooter” part.

Just seeing a lot of Pokémon on the timeline, resident evil 9 is out and I see friends playing it, I dipped into the marathon open beta. That’s like, 3x as much of that big budget stuff than I usually see people talking about and most seem like they’re having fun!

So the cup overfloweth with the mainstream videogames today huh?
