I love the Shady Hollow books for cozy mystery books. Think Fantastic Mr. Fox but as a small town journalist.
Hemingway is the obvious choice. Say hi to the cats!

Im halfway through Dungeon Crawler Carl and have the new one pre-ordered already. Great series!
Spent my honeymoon in Key Largo, and the beach reading was phenominal.
The Monk and Robot books by Becky Chambers are great relaxing cozy novellas
Remarkably Bright Creatures
Man o War by Cory McCarthy if you like coming of age novels
The Corespondent for something more recent.
I also finished the @stpaulpublibrary.bsky.social #readbrave book for 2026 "Lobizona" by Romina Garber
Whenever I worry Ive grown out of YA, a book like this reminds me I've just grown out of bad YA.
My only complaint is that it was a tad too trope heavy.

"Of Monsters and Mainframes" by Barbara Truelove is an interesting twist of sci-fi, unreliable narrator, found family, and classical monsters(?).
This falls into that category of books I really liked, but not anything that blew my mind.
Very fun twist on the sci-fi genre

I finished "The Correspondent" by Virginia Evans a couple of days ago.
Super hyped up books always worry me.
This one lived up to it.
I truly love a book about the human experience of just being human if it is executed well.
Evans nails it in this one told through a series of letters.

A depressive episode right into covid? What's the worst that could happen. I finished some books. Here's the thread

Crazy how 10 years ago I told my now wife that I only wanted a dog and I didnt want cats. Now this is my biological child Pippin.
Cat #1 was her idea.
Cats #2-4 were my idea
The Pitt and Scrubs having the same plot in 2026 is wild work
Pokemon relaunching Hit Clips in 2026 is absolutely wild
Browt looks so stupid and I love him so much
"The blueprint" by Rae Giana Rashad
Wrapped up "The Blueprint" by Rae Giana Rashad yesterday.
This book feels like Handmades tale with the racial caste systems amplified.
This book has a heavy emphasis on Power dynamics in relationships and legality vs morality.
Overall, I had issues with the pacing and format

And this is why the Trump administration is constantly attacking us. They can't handle a state where social programs are working and people are happy. They want to rule by fear and put money in the pockets of Billionaires.
Cover of Blacktop Wasteland by SA Cosby
This month has been slow going. Emotionally exhausted living in St Paul.
Thanks to Libby for forcing me to read.
Blacktop Wasteland was everything I expect from SA Cosby who has quickly become one of my favorite authors. Great writing. Good characters. Fast paced.

Don't congratulate John Roberts or the Supreme Court.
Congratulate Rick Woldenberg, the Chicago-area leader of Learning Resources, an educadtional toy company that had the courage to sue the president of the United States to save his family business.
As well as everyone else who stepped up.
Ive been with my wife since we were teenagers, and today I learned that she doesn't have an inner monologue. Just when I thought we were out of things to talk about.
Keeping the spark alive
50 years, and I dont think this book has ever been more important.
To add more:
Living in the Twin Cities at this point in history during the militarization of federal police has made this book resonate even more. Only now are many, including myself, are fully realizing that the police and federal government are truly the oppressors.
Cover of "Revolutionary Suicide" by Huey P Newton
Every February I like to read a Memoir or Biography of a prominent Black figure in American history.
Huey P Newton along with Malcom X might be the most slandered civil rights icons in history. The US education system has slanders these men for 50 years.
Please read this book

And the Pedophile currently in the White House rate is 100%
The Packers super bowl in 2010 was great, but there was just something so special about Giannis and Khris getting that ring.
The comeback after the knee injury and being down 2-0 to put up 50 to close it. It was magical
Don't mind me. Im just getting emotional thinking about game 6 of the 2021 NBA Championship where Giannis put up 50.
"We did it Khris. We Fucking did it"

Agents Suspended After Their Story of Shooting an Immigrant Falls Apart A judge dropped charges against the immigrant and another man after the top federal prosecutor in Minnesota said new evidence was not consistent with the agentsโ testimony.
Hey remember the shooting in Minneapolis that happened between Renee Good and Alexi Pretti, the guy they claimed was shot by an agent after he had attacked that agent with a shovel? I know it's hard to believe but the agents' story fell apart and charges were dropped. www.nytimes.com/2026/02/12/u...
For the love of god ANYBODY besides Klobuchar! Just watch Dean Phillips enter the race to make it a true Douche vs Turd Sandwich contest
Just a reminder that just because theyre your family doesn't mean you should put up with them supporting pedophiles. Cut them out.
Normalize calling out people in public for their shitty behavior.
Today its me calling out my 35 year old brother for sleeping with a 16 year old when he was 20 on his post defending Kid Rock.
His response? "She wasnt 16"
Okay. 21 and 17 is no better
Honestly, nothing is cuter than animals that mate for life.
Like, what do you mean that otter is crying because his wife is at the vet. Give her back.
I genuinely think that when we look back on the Covid pandemic we will be showing our kids "Inside" by Bo Burnham.
It is truly the definitive piece of art for the 3-4 years of Covid.
I wrote this while high and listening to "Sexing", but I will stand buy it when sober
Web page showing pre-order of The Tapestry if Fate and A Parade of Horribles.
