5 PL games in 15 days followed by 1 in the following 35 days! π€―
Big few weeks ahead!
Next 5 PL games quite tough, but if we can get through with 11-12 points that should be decent enough and keep us on track given one of those games is game in hand.
Iβd probably take 4 points away at Bournemouth and Everton if offered now
There is only a β¬275k difference in prize money between finishing 1st in group (β¬9.9m) vs. 2nd (β¬9.6m), though there is also β¬2.1m for each group stage win.
Reaching round of 16 also earns us an extra β¬11m
Solid win and guaranteed top 2 spot π so we will play one of the teams that finish 15-18th in last 16.
Hopefully not City or Madrid! π¬
Time for Liverpool to bounce back with a win tomorrow.
We have a decent record v Brentford, but we need to stop conceding 1st as we have in 5 of last 7 PL games (vs only 3 of first 13 games)
1-3 win I reckon - Gapko, Jota, Salah,
Everyone saying LfC are under pressure need to remember this is Slotβs first season.
The real pressure is on Arsenal and Arteta who have had years and spend Β£100s of millions.
Still in a great position though have 6 top 10 away games left vs. 1 for Arsenal!
Szoboslai might be back hopefully of course π€
With Gravenberch looking a bit tired recently and Jones not on top form, is there an argument for playing Gravenberch, Endo and Macca no. 10 away at Forest!?
Was Slot trialling 2 strikers/Jota at 10 a bit v Accrington in case we need a goal and added threat at Forest at some point?
Macca also missed a key challenge on Bruno before the key pass but more convenient to blame Trent
Donβt think he played blind passes. Creative players always have a higher risk and lower pass %.
Poor game but the contract situation is sensationalising it too much as others were also poor
In the grand scheme of things, todayβs draw was simply a missed opportunity to increase the title odds. The Chelsea and Arsenal results made it so that one point today was fine. Now two games in the domestic cups to focus on and advance the quadruple title charge. Am looking forward to these games.
Everyone laying into Trent and he was poor today BUT.
1) Man U targeted that side so it was often 2 v 1
2) Salah seems to have a free pass to not have to track back as much as everyone else and that happens to be on Trentβs side which no-one seems to mention
9 days until next PL game. Trent situation has to be sorted in next week!?
Is leaving on a free end of season still an option or does he need to sign or be sold in Jan!?!
Hope he stays but if not, do we sell now if can get Β£30m or let leave on a free!?
Still hope he stays
Reckon LFC go full strength for both Man U and Spurs in semi mid week then B team for Accrington next Sat including Bradley and Konate returns hopefully.
Accrington team?
Kelleher
Bradley
Konate
Endo
Tsimikas
Morton
Jones
Elliot
Chiesa
Nunez
Nyoni
Happy New Year!
New Yearβs resolutions?
Stop focusing on contracts and focus on Slot and our brilliant team and football and wait until we get official news on contracts as no point speculating over gossip and rumours ππ₯π₯³

NEW: Liverpool vs. Leicester: 10 key things to know for Boxing Day clash #lfc
Doubt weβll need as many as 95. Chelsea would need to win 20/21 games to finish on 95!
First time Spurs had lost by more than 1 goal this season apparently π€― so a statement win from LFC ππ
How many pts wins the league?
I think worst case 91 enough as Chelsea need to win 18,draw 3 of 22 to get 91 points and Arsenal win 18,draw 3 of 21 to get 90pts - unlikely
23 games left for LFCΒ
17 wins, 4 draws, 2 defeats = 91 pts πΒ
Thatβs worst case as 87 might be enough
Expect Chelsea to win this evening and they ARE major threats for title.
BUT,
they do still have to play away at Arsenal, City, Newcastle, Villa, Fulham andβ¦Everton next weekend! π
This is prob why we didnβt rotate on Tues. If we finish 7/8th weβd currently be looking at Bayern or Leverkusen in last 16 as things stand if they win their play offs so there is an advantage to finishing as high as possible, including if reach quarters where play 7-8th team rather than 3-6th
If LFC finish 1st/2nd in CL we will play one of the teams between 15-18th apparently.
Advantage on paper though City or Real Madrid could finish in that group!
Reason itβs not a lower place team is because they will play a higher team in play off so higher place team expected to progress!
Diogo Jota also involved in training as Liverpool prepare to face Girona.
When you see our results like this you realise how brilliant Slot has been so far.
Made us expect to win every game and disappointed even with a good away draw, but keep this up and there is no stopping us!
#YNWA
Need to win at least 4 of next 5 as suspect Arsenal might win 5/5
Sat lunchtime kick offs arenβt ideal but chance to make a statement at Everton and go 10 points clear until others play.
We should play the kids at Girona next week and leave all the 1st team at home!

Predictions? 1-2 win I reckon/hope π€
Arne Slot and his backroom team in a big group hug.
So with all the attention on Slot - I thought I'd just name check who is in this little group hug we've been seeing a lot of.
