𧀠Also a switch in backup goalkeepers, with Kim Jeong-hoon seeing his contract come to an end and Lee Ju-hyun from newly promoted Bucheon FC 1995 joining.

πͺ However, also some notable names have gone through the exit:
- Park Jin-seob (Transfer, Zhejiang FC)

- Kwon Chang-hoon (End of Contract, signed for Jeju SK)

π Just over a week into the new year and Chung Jung-yong's Jeonbuk have already been busy.
Key signings include:
- Kim Seung-sub (Jeju SK)
- Park Ji-soo (Wuhan Three Towns)
- Cho Wi-je (Busan IPark)
- Bruno Mota (FC Anyang, loan)

Just under a week since writing this season recap and already starters Park Jin-seop, Song Min-kyu & Hong Jeong-ho left amongst other squad players. Chung Jung-yong has quite the rebuild ahead of him!
If rumours of Pohang's Oberdan joining are true though, that should go some way to replacing Park.

Honoured to have been on commentary for the moment when Jeonbuk claimed their 10th #kleague title. After three seasons of Ulsan dominance, Gus Poyet has completely changed the attitude of this team and making them difficult to beat. One of the best Jeonbuk sides I've watched in my 11 years here.

Hernandes came with a lot of promise from Incheon in 2024 but suffered an injury in his first game and was never really able to put himself back into contention, especially with managerial changes
Anasmo joined April 8th this year but leaves having not appeared for the 1st team

Hernandes and Joel Anasmo have both departed Jeonbuk freeing up two of the overseas slots in Poyet's squad.

Traveled to the UK Friday but did manage to catch Jeonbuk Vs. Ulsan through to jetlag. Talk of the title still somehow feels premature but that certainly was the statement win Poyet's side have been needing. The biggest challenge of their 13 game unbeaten streak so far and a massive confidence boost
Know the feeling. I really want BlueSky to be the alternative as a few minutes back on X reminds me why I left, but it's just not there yet.
π’ Another game, another goal for Jeon Jin-woo yesterday as Jeonbuk defeated Daegu 4-0 to go outright top. It's Jeon's 11th #kleague goal of the season and 15th of the campaign overall. Can't remember the last time I was this excited to see a Jeonbuk player get a KNT call up π°π·
With their 0-0 draw against Jeju SK this evening, Jeonbuk return to the top of #KLeague 1 for the first time since November 28th 2021, some 1,272 days ago.
Also, while he's getting plenty of plaudits already, Jeon Jin-woo is an early MVP candidate if he stays injury free keeps up this form. Still a long way to go but if he could just stop scoring for the duration of the summer transfer window that'd be much appreciated π #kleague #JEOvANY
Are Jeonbuk 'back'? Nearly..? On one hand 10 unbeaten is some achievement, especially in situations they would've dropped points last year. They've got confidence and grit again. However, we still need to see how they fare in the 'big' matches. #KLeague #JEOvANY
Another 2nd half where they invited pressure though. Anyang created plenty and Jeonbuk were forced to defend well once more. Good signs for the defence perhaps, but more attacking intent and another goal could've also seen them go top this evening.

FT | Jeonbuk 2-0 Anyang
Momentum maintained as Poyet's side make it 10 #kleague games unbeaten. Solid first half with Jeon Jin-woo scroing twice & already looking like he'll hold onto the POTM trophy in May. With Hong Myung-bo watching, a KNT call up imminent? #JEOvANY
Sorry for the late reply here. Not injured (or anymore at least) as he featured midweek in the cup. On the bench today though but we'll have to see if he comes on. That's not even a guarantee these days.
2) Poyet not bothered by u22 rule. 19 y/o Jin Tae-ho has been the 2nd sub ON a few times now. And not to replace U22 Kang Sang-yoon who has also been impressive and plays the majority of games. More of this faith in youth please.
#KLeague #GWAvJEO
Two particular positives:
1) Jeonbuk have made 1 change to their starting line up in 7 matches. Not sure the last time Jeonbuk had such a clear 11 but it is helping to have that familiarity.
#KLeague #GWAvJEO
FT | Gwangju 0-1 Jeonbuk
Jeonbuk very much on the back foot for most of this, and Gwangju should've scored at least once. However, Jeonbuk would've lost this last season. Tonight they sit in 2nd on a 9-game unbeaten run. Not the best football, but not bad either. It's progress.
