One day on an Arch-based distro and already various discourse we've read makes so much more sense, especially about flatpak.
We were a bit worried about having to actually learn how to use Linux properly but...
Turns out we *get* to learn how to use our system properly!
We were so stubborn about using GNOME because we like how it looks and extensions make it mostly work until they break.
Turns out Plasma 6 can mimic that exact look while not being nearly as opinionated 😅
Given we were on the fence between Cachy and Garuda, maybe we should take 3 attempts at installing Cachy each failing to boot as a sign to give Garuda a try instead 😅

First 3 attempts at installing CachyOS bricked.
Of all things, we needed to install Windows as the most expedient way to distro hop, since W11 was the only other thing on that Ventoy drive.
Good news is we have five distros available to try to install now!
Plus, it's a great excuse to switch DEs.
We love how GNOME looks and feels, but we need to use a bunch of extensions to make it work how we want, and that's led to some glitching and some breakages when GNOME updates and a niche extension doesn't support the new version yet.
