This is heartbreaking and is particularly sinister because paypal is partnered with Patreon as a processor for which creators can be paid out, INCLUDING us 18+ creators. I know that paypal is the only game in town in some regions but I really don't understand how patreon sees this as an ok setup

Itβs crazy that in 2025 some folks still donβt know that followers & awards donβt necessarily mean youβre rich or making lots of money.
ESPECIALLY in the current economical situation.
Most of us artists put so much work into our careers and just get enough to get by, or slightly more, or much less.
You guys overestimate followers and awards. My Patreon makes β¬140 bucks a month (I had it for 5 years) and my print store makes like β¬500 a year. Thatβs not enough to live.
Of course there WILL be people who pull it off. There always is. This is the same argument. Itβs the 0.00001% who do.
