Yesterday, I spoke during the Second Reading of the Representation of the People Bill to advocate for extending the vote to 16 and 17 year olds.

The SEND system needs reform and I welcome Government action.

Update: Thames Water have confirmed that the repair to the burst pipe is now complete. They are now carefully introducing water through the repaired section of pipe and gradually restoring pressures back to normal levels.

📢 Notice to affected residents about a burst water main on Brockley Road, SE4.

Engineers are on site and re-routing the network. Work is expected to be completed in the next 2–3 hours. Bottled water will be delivered to the 125 affected properties until repairs are completed.

Kender Primary School is always a delight to visit.

I've championed votes for 16- and 17-year-olds since I was elected in 2015.

(1/2) Brilliant to see the Gov announce £1bn of funding to community-owned energy projects across the UK.

From council tenants saving money on their bills, to community centres making profits for local enterprises, there are huge opportunities.

Many thanks to everyone who attended the Woodpecker Community Meeting over the weekend.

This was another productive meeting of residents, Ward Councillors and community stakeholders where we discussed progress on planned improvements to Woodpecker Estate.

(4/4) Delivering that change will also require a Cabinet and front bench that reflect the breadth of views across the Parliamentary Labour Party and the diverse traditions that make up our movement, strengthening both unity and effectiveness as we move forward.

(3/4) At the same time, we must recognise that the public rightly expects change to be felt more quickly, especially in our economy and in living standards.

(2/4) When the government has deviated from our Labour values, it has made errors, but this Labour Government has begun the serious work of changing the country and delivering the national renewal we promised voters in 2024.

(1/4) Turning inward to a leadership contest now would be both wrong and counterproductive when there is still so much vital work ahead. Our focus should remain on delivering the change voters asked for, not distracting ourselves from it.
