I want to explain a few things and then it might be clearer why UK trans people are upset.
In 2001 I married my wife, Sylvia.
In 2005 I started medical transition. (1/13)

Oooh yay, books!
If there isn't an Indian restaurant in Rome called Habemas Papadam, what even is the point?
A SHORT POEM FOR STAR WARS DAY
Her name was Yoda,
A showgirl she was.
Iโm so sorry for your loss.
Imagine what a fraction of that terfy energy and money could do if directed towards the real problems besetting the UK ? #Speirgorm
On what is a really difficult day, here are some resources for our trans friends and allies.
Solidarity ๐

We didnโt have these in my school in Ireland - I donโt think this was a thing in Ireland at all, certainly not in the 80s or 90s, but am open to being corrected!
If I could choose some, Iโd probably go for something like Bosco, The Den, Fortycoats and Wanderley Wagon ๐ #speirgorm
Just how beloved is Our President?
Not only does he have a plushie, which raises money for a children's hospital, he will soon have a sticker book!

Maniac 2000. *ducks*
I reckon the #WHSmith name change palaver is an elaborate #AprilFools prank.
Best of luck!
In advance of #stpatricksday, here's a thread of essential articles about Irish stuff which you can present to international friends who wish to understand us better.
First up: a tale of two Taytos, by Rรณisรญn Lanigan.

Screenshot of Guardian article headline and photo. Pic shows queues outside the Georges Pompidou centre in Paris, and headline reads โVisitors flock to Parisโs Pompidou Centre before it closes for renovationsโ.
I immediately heard Zig and Zagโs voices in my head. @doublezcreative.bsky.social
Oooh, #Daredevil: Born Again is rather good, isnโt it?
The first CD I ever bought was Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness by The Smashing Pumpkins. 25% because the cover was cool, 25% because it seemed like good value (double CD! Look at all those songs!) and 50% because it seemed like a credible/cool purchase for someone starting Uni.
Anyway, back to Now 22. It was pretty formative for me in terms of music tastes - contained absolute dance bangers like Something Good by Utah Saints, On A Ragga Tip by SL2, Finally by CeCe Peniston and Rhythm Is a Dancer by Snap. (Weโll skim over the inclusion of Jimmy Nail and Nick Berry.)
(I now kind of regret not having the chance to get to know Mr. Bowieโs stuff sooner.)
The first album I actually owned was An Innocent Man by Billy Joel. I didnโt buy it myself, though. I won a Sony Walkman when I was about 8 and didnโt have anything to play on it. Mum suggested Billy, as the only other options in the house, as I recall, were Queen, David Bowie and Elkie Brooks.
*RePOST. Not report. The more flipping hurry, the less speed ๐
Report with the first album you bought with your own money
Iโm pretty sure it was this one. Double cassette tape, purchased from Seamus in Music World in Athlone ๐
โโฆno more Dire Straitsโฆ or Elvis Costello-oh-oh-ohโฆโ

In advance of #Stormรowyn what is one tried and tested tip for storm prep?
Mine is to fill the bath in advance so the water can be used for refilling the toilet cistern after flushing
Yikes. Stay safe #speirgorm

The genius of @doublezcreative.bsky.social cannot be overstated.
Maybe @dublinbusnews.bsky.social should be getting people to send in their memories of it ๐ #46A
Is it sad to be sad about a bus route? Canโt believe the 46A is soon to be no more. Feels like I spent about half my life on it between the mid 90s and early 10s! #dublinbus
