I get yelled at for saying this but for many hundreds of years people went to university not to get diplomas or be employable but because immersion in the humanities was considered foundational to a good life, and school must return to its original purpose: the joy of learning.

The US destruction of Iranian oil refineries constitutes a war crime because the refineries themselves are a civilian target and not a military one. This action is intended to inflict suffering and loss to civilian populations with minimal impact on any military installations.
Iran’s people were facing a horrible shortage of water before the war began. If we are destroying desalination plants and setting fire to Teheran we are committing unfathomable crimes.
It's good that the January 6th plaque is finally up in the Capitol. But it's utterly disgraceful—just the sort of sick travesty you'd expect from Mike Johnson—that it was put up without ceremony at 4:30 a.m. in a place inaccessible to the public.
