I get that educators need to fight for their jobs and departments, embrace tech and stay relevant to sell seats.
I am not sure educators always think things through from the perspective of a self employed artist though.

I have lots of questions and concerns. I love learning libraries and boneyards in institutions and I guess the goal for this is to increase accessibility. It is cool to flip the object around on my screen. Itβs the downloadable files that give me pause.
Education is often monetized. Who benefits from artistβs ideas?
Does a 3D printed version of Chris Gustinβs teabowl translate into meaningful learning about how to make a quality object?
Youβre right. Permission after the fact is more like forgiveness.
βEducational purposes onlyβ is open to interpretation and difficult to control.
It is my understanding that he has been asking permission but not always before the object scans were posted and available for downloading. Not sure if every artist represented has given permission. I know some have.
We will just call you βLong Legs Lindaβ in those!!
I wonβt be at NCECA this year, but Red Lodge Clay Center will have some of my pots in their gallery at the EXPO Center, along with many excellent artists.
I want to buy one of those tools so bad!
Yes! Thank you!
Thanks! I just know there is some kind of tool that can get into those tiny nooks and crannies and finish them better than my skills with this saw can!!
Iβm having so much fun in metalsmithing class. Still a long ways to go until this sun pendant is finished: filing, sanding, riveting, soldering and polishing. Stay tuned!
You two look like you could be related: I see it in the nose and mouth. Obviously similar jeans.
I love these graphic chicken bowls!

Last Call X at Companion Gallery is online now for your viewing pleasure. So many great works in the show.
This user interface in BlueSky feels foreign to me and I am a bit lost finding my way around, but Iβm not forcing it. Still bouncing around from IG to Facebook to Threads to BlueSky and not posting much on any of them!

Hi "News". There was NO "shouting match" between Trump, Vance and Zelensky. Zelensky was calm, spoke quietly and respectfully while he was yelled at and bullied by both Trump and Vance. Quit trying to spin the narrative. We know what we heard and what we saw so just STOP.
Daaaang! π
Thank you so much!
NO. At a time of massive income and wealth inequality we should not be giving tax breaks to billionaires. We should demand that they start paying their fair share.
If you feel unsafe doing this, fly a Star Wars Rebellion Alliance flag insteadβjust tell people youβre a fan of Star Wars. ;)
Oh wow, I love seeing this painting. Totally exciting and engaging like your ceramics. Iβd love to hear your thought process on 2D vs your sculpturesβparticularly how you decide to divide up spaces visually.
Aw thank you Sherylπ
I LOVE the greens. πππ
Thank you so much!
This liquor set features a bottle that resembles a flower. It has a green bulbous base, a tapered neck with a geometric pattern and the bottle stopper is flower-shaped with green and yellow petals. The set features four green sipper cups. The bottle and four cups sit in a yellow fence tray.
Here is one of the finished bottle sets that I posted at the greenware stage a few weeks ago. It took a lot of restraint for me to leave those sipper cups green and undecorated, but I know it was the right choice. Off to Companion Gallery for Last Call.
Meanwhile, in Kansas, this is what our legislators prioritize.
Beautiful. The punchy colors of the flowers and greenery pair so nicely with your vase.
Restrained maximalism. Restrained yet over-the-top. A beautiful oxymoron realized. This bowl may be my lesson for today as I am heading to my glaze table. π
