Being online is so much easier than being a young person who has to put themselves out there.
Being online is so much easier than being a young person who has to put themselves out there.
So much online conservatism these days is just "I miss being a kid"
Hmm... I wonder what force could have stymied the social development of these young men. Perhaps a technological advent which has come to dominate our lives and supplants physical interactions until one day you realize you don't like staying inside all of the time. It's a mystery!!
Did you know The Pitt is not actually about real doctors in a real hospital? It's people dressing up and saving fake lives!
So according to the WSJ a US Senator conspired with another country to manipulate the US into starting a war, am I getting this right
So this happened at my university. An inevitability, I suppose. humanizingthevacuum.wordpress.com/2026/03/07/t...
It's literally what a campaign is! A candidate is making a pitch to voters as to why they're qualified for a job!! If you run an ineffective campaign, that's on the candidate!!!
...Except it absolutely is?????????
Voters need "something" to vote for beyond "I'm not the other guy," even if "the other guy" is a white supremacist. If Harris isn't promising sweeping change (especially given how unpopular Biden was) why would the average voter care?
Weβre creating data farms and poisoning water supplies for a thing thatβs making people the dumbest theyβve ever been
People in this world are dying because some people want to sound like they got kicked in the skull by a donkey
Something that speaks to a sudden decline in our society is the amount of people Iβve seen lately approaching stop signs and then going right through them like βnope, donβt believe in this anymore!β
Well, you know what? We should be lucky that their overseers are as cheery and adorable as Nurses Joy.
They've now killed four people -- three U.S. citizens and a Mexican national. They've shot several more.
They've lied about all of them. They haven't shaded the truth. They haven't "misled" us. They've brazenly, knowingly lied while in possession of the evidence disproving their lies.
But they do have socialized medicine. So... kind of a win??
We overestimate the intellectual value of knowing how to use a computer.
A trove of nearly 3,200 disclosure records, which ProPublica made public this week, reveals a web of financial ties between Trump officials and the industries they help regulate.
Exactly. Such as all of us paying taxes that could be used for a single-payer health care system that would benefit everyone, especially the most vulnerable among us. A practical, moral, and popular position to take!
Pete Hegseth's murderous buffoonery, coming amid a lifetime in which he's betrayed everyone close to him and failed up from one disaster to the next, is a perfect example of how the appeal of Trumpism is that it creates a permission structure for people to openly be their worst selves
If this were a scripted satire, everyone would lampoon it for being lazy and unimaginative.
Newly released footage shows an ICE agent killing Rubin Ray Martinez, 23, in his car in Texas.
"He was shot at point-blank range through his side window by an ICE agent who was in no danger."

I pray that that Pete Hegseth has a song stuck in his head but can't remember the name of, that it drives him absolutely crazy, and that juuuuuust when he's about to figure it out, the name escapes him. And then after that, he's trampled by stampeding elephants.
Can't wait for her to do the other 68 Love Songs.
We love an inverted pyramid, don't we folks?
For me, it's just a lot more cut and dry in some places, so some categories become more worthy of speculation than others. But of course, nothing is over until the ceremony is over.
My point is that every year, awards season junkies like myself, try to make arguments as to why a race might go one way or the other, or to divine favor or weakness where there is none. If that's too close to trying to shut down any discussion, that's uncool and I apologize for that, also.
That said, I don't mean to accuse of you of "brand-management-esque motives." That's not what I was saying, or at least not what I meant to say. If that's what was insinuated, I do apologize.
I completely get it. I've been doing this for a very long time. I love awards season. There are any number of ways this "could" shake out. And that's part of the fun! But also, if we're looking at likelihood, nothing is certain, but there are strong indicators as to how things will go.
All this to say, the frontrunners that have been the frontrunners are probably still the frontrunners and I think there's more evidence to suggest this than that points to a sea change.
I do think supporting actress is a bit up in the air, but I think it's between Taylor and Madigan. To circle back to actor, there's a plausible path for everyone, but I don't buy Timmy in last place; I think that's Leo or Hawke. Supporting actor could go lots of ways, but Penn is a super safe bet.
There's not much of a trend of how much the Academy spreads things out. Sometimes one movie gets six or seven statues (seven being the ceiling post-preferential ballot), but usually a few movies get three or four statuettes. So, I'm skeptical of a winner-take-all outcome.
I'd also argue they'll win roughly the same number of trophies--somewhere in the 4-6 trophies zone. Sinners takes original screenplay, cinematography, score, and maybe costumes. OBAA takes picture, director, adapted screenplay, editing and probably supporting actor (Penn has a ton of heat).
