I remember the hiatuses during Gravity falls haha. It’s super understandable why indie projects take so long to come out but that’s just going to mean people are going to spend that time trying to figure out the questions that the story presents.

Hiatuses have always been when fans go off the walls with their theories bc they’re trying to keep engaged with the story during the wait. And this is a show deliberately designed as like a TV version of an ARG. I don’t think the reason why shit is getting so weird is just “kids these days”

something I feel gets a bit lost with all the TADC theorising discourse I’ve seen a lot lately is that the show is unique in just how little it explains and has huge wait times between each new crumb of info. Which isn’t a criticism of the show itself I just don’t think it’s fair to mock Gen Z
