As for time, I pride myself on putting in as much time as there is for play, as well as being very solid on my feet when it comes to prep.
Plus, if they're interested in one of my existing fleshed-out settings, I could nearly run that for them in my sleep, given their mountains of existing detail.

Yeah, I've been pondering how I'll go about it based on how other GMs do and been looking around for someone to base my initial model on.
I'm thinking a minimum of 4-5 responses a day (as prompted by the player[s]), I have pretty easy ways to handle combat in a more theater-of-mind manner 1/2

There are few better feelings as a GM than a Player, days after a session, asking for an aside to pose a Lore question and them opening it up with "Have I lost it? Or is this right?" and they proceed to be entirely correct about the theory.

If it's one of my own settings though, it tends to be a story that comes from the "internal systems" I build into each world that allows them to generate content based on my player's choices, actions, etc.

I'd say whenever I'm putting together a #TTRPG or #DnD / #D&D Campaign of any kind, the first thing I do is find a core concept, be it an idea, point of view, or something else I want to explore through the campaign. It can be relevant to the world, a wider philosophical view, or even just 1/ 🧵

In an era where 3rd spaces seem to be dead or dying across the world, the games i run can serve a similar purpose to them socially.
That weekly game for some is their main socialization avenue and I'm happy to be able to provide the activity they use to relax from a long week of work or their life.

#TTRPGtip An easy way to encourage players to roleplay and describe their actions as a GM for any system, especially newer players who may not know how to do so, is to open the door for them by taking their existing ideas, descriptions, etc. and adding to it a bit, then rewarding them for it too!

So, had to push back my session last night due to one player getting held at work late, and even though it was supposed to end at 2am-ish, the players powered through till ~3, and showered me with praise for an additional hour.

Players! Roleplay doesn't stop in combat! Describe how you perform an attack, cast a spell, etc. with some detail! You don't have to Stop Roleplay just because you're rolling the dice, and Roleplay isn't just about speaking as your character

It's bad enough that major media outlets refused to publish the manifesto (though they were happy to quote from it selectively); but they also won't even articulate a reason why. Shouldn't they at least have to explain the decision?
