In 1994, Ukraine gave up the world’s third-largest nuclear arsenal. In return, Russia, the United States, and the United Kingdom committed to respecting Ukraine’s sovereignty and borders under the Budapest Memorandum, registered with the UN. I agree that geopolitics can be complex. My point is that the moral and legal core of this war is not. Understanding context should never blur responsibility.
This war is not complex: it is an unprovoked invasion driven by fear, lies, and authoritarian power. Ukraine is fighting not just for its territory, but for the principle that borders cannot be changed by force.
It looks that way. His actions consistently align with Russian interests. If they hold kompromat, it would explain a lot.

The Budapest Memorandum did not foresee todays economic power plays or demands for control over natural resources. It was an agreement focused on nuclear disarmament and security guarantees, not on trade, aid, or resource management.
I see, well, NATO could have pushed Russia out, but that would mean fullscale war. Instead, NATO chose to support Ukraine without direct involvement. So far, that support hasnt been enough. Thats the reality
This is not about NATO. Its about Putins attempt to erase a sovereign nation and resurrect a Russian empire. Ukraine was attacked for choosing its own path, not because it posed a threat. If we allow borders to be redrawn by force, it puts the entire security of Europe at risk.
The only real solution to the war in Ukraine: Russia must end its aggression, withdraw from occupied territories, and respect Ukraines sovereignty. Peace begins when international law is upheld, not when borders are redrawn by force.

I am not a Russophobe. Under Putin, Russia terrorizes Ukraine, violates international law, attempts to occupy a neighboring country, and kidnaps children. Russian propaganda systematically spreads lies. Acknowledging facts is not Russophobia, it’s reality.
Trumps so-called “peace plan” is nothing but a gift to Putin. By blaming Ukraine and pushing for surrender, he is parroting Kremlin propaganda, not negotiating. Real diplomacy strengthens allies, not abandons them. Appeasing a dictator never ends war, it fuels the next one.
Utterly predictably, Putin rejects the unconditional ceasefire offered by Ukraine, sends Trump off on the errands of making the Russian invasion easier and denying Ukrainian sovereignty, while Trump claims he has accomplished something.
Putin plays chess, Trump plays reality TV. While Ukraine bleeds, Putin gets his way, with a U.S. president who blames Zelenskyy instead of the aggressor in the Kremlin. History repeats itself, and Trump moves like a pawn in Putin’s game.
Trump is running the US like a mafia boss, without loyalty or principles. Threats against Ukraine, pressure on Canada, and weakness toward Russia paint a picture of a nation acting more like a mafia state than a global leader. Democracy erodes when power is used as leverage
