(For now, the most tenuous link is the connection between Khara and the New Anime Era Declaration; they clearly know of it (see: the Shin Seiki of Evangelion's title) but idk if it's still at the front of their minds.)
...I worry this interpretation is a bit simplistic but hey, that's what this research is for.
The show concludes as a triple message from Khara to Gundam: a love letter to the work that inspired them, a call to free Gundam from the patterns it is trapped forever retreading, and a declaration that they will, "with a deep hope and determination, seek out [their] own New Type."
The disaffection of the post-war youth and their hollow world, the discovery of Gundam and the promise of the Newtype, the disillusion when that promise fails to materialize, and the attempt to grasp that hope again.
By the final episode, the questions raised by these two sources seemed to be at the heart of GQuuuuuuX itself.
Hence my current reading of the show: GQuuuuuuX as an allegory for Khara's relationship with Gundam itself, culminating in a reaffirmation of the New Anime Era Declaration.

However, the HG GQuuuuuuX kits are particularly complex, approaching that of Real Grade kits (same size, higher internal complexity).
Ambitious, highly detailed, kinda non-standard, unusually tricky and maybe a bit of a rough introduction: much like GQuuuuuuX itself! π
High Grades are the "basic" level, smaller size and fairly simple construction. (They were cutting edge when the name was first introduced in 1990, but what was once a High level of quality has now become standard.)

Would also be interesting to compare anime- and non-anime-community performance. Would not be surprised if presence on Netflix led to higher non-community performance (and thus higher overall), but lower community perf. (and thus staying power, though that might be more about the "drop" format.)
Anecdotally, presence on Netflix might bring shows to a wider audience. I once assumed a friend-of-a-friend was a mid-2000s otaku because they made an Ouran joke but no, they'd just seen it on Netflix. (I found this out by making an Eva joke, then floundering for 30 sec trying to explain Eva.)

This runner (PC-210) was used for all but four of the RE/100: the very first (Nightingale; uses PC-209) and the three newest molds (Zaku II FZ, Shokew, and Den'an-Gei; polycapless).
