I'm going to spend the rest of my day with my head in my hands, bemoaning such a golden opportunity being missed.
It goes on to talk about equity and access and breadth of choice. How can you have those things if young people don't understand how what they are learning fits into the needs of the working world.
In fact, other than to say it's out of their purview, the word careers is mainly mentioned in respect of the curriculum in D&T, STEM, Computing, and Drama, Theatre and Music.
YET, the report, cites prep for the changing world as one of the key things that schools should be preping our children for.
Sad to see that the curriculum review headed by Becky Francis decided that careers education, information and guidance were outside the terms of reference for the review.
One of the most time consuming aspects of being a #CareersLeader is building an employer network. Here I start a mini series of blogs on the topic by sharing some ideas to find professional associations.
