So exciting to see this out -- Michael has hugely accelerated my statistical training over the last few years and is incredible at explaining and teaching complex ideas in stats ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป

Exercises in Statistical Reasoning Students cultivate learning techniques in school that emphasize procedural problem solving and rote memorization. This leads to efficient problem solving for familiar problems. However, conducting nov...

My first textbook is officially available for pre-order today. Grab a copy if you're interested in developing a (statistical) research-oriented mindset. The book is designed as a stepping stone from statistical coursework to novel statistical research.

We construct a fully connected network comprising spatio-temporal data for the dyadic model and use normalized composite likelihoods to account for the dependence structure in space and time. (4/5)

Mechanistic statistical models are commonly used to study the flow of biological processes. In landscape genetics, the aim is to infer spatial mechanisms that govern gene flow in populations. Existing statistical approaches in landscape genetics do not account for temporal dependence... (2/5)

In my latest paper (with M. Hooten and V. Narasimhan), we developed a dyadic model that accounts for the flow of biological processes in space-time. We applied our method to ancient human DNA data to study human movement in Bronze Age Europe. (1/5)
