✅ Level 3 Driving Ban remains in effect in Sussex and Kent Counties.

Delaware State Housing Authority (DSHA) has authorized emergency funding to support providers, and we’re coordinating with organizations like Friendship House of Delaware, the City of Wilmington, Delaware, and the Food Bank to meet shelter and meal needs.
As the blizzard approaches, Code Purple shelters are opening statewide to ensure unhoused Delawareans have a warm, safe place to stay.

All of Delaware is now under a blizzard warning. Snow totals are increasing, with 8 to 24 inches expected statewide, snowfall rates of up to 1 to 2 inches per hour, and wind gusts up to 45 mph.

Dedicated public servants have worked hard to salt roads and sidewalks, and we continue to thank them for their service. But that's also meant a week of lost instruction time for students.
To every parent and family: please know the State of Delaware is doing everything possible through the weekend to ensure schools are open on Monday morning. Delaware was coated in more snow and ice than at any time in the last decade.
I've also personally spoken with each New Castle County superintendent and received lists of roads, sidewalks and bus stops that remain unsafe. DelDOT is clearing them this weekend.
