As I had to point out many times during post #metoo years, no one is owed a big Hollywood contract. No one owed a comedy special. Now: No one is owed a Senate seat. This dude was not murdered & he’s not in jail. He made poor decisions & his actions now are sus & so he doesn’t get the job. The end!

β€œHow dare you consistently ask that political candidates have the kind of judgment & maturity that the average high school social studies teacher possesses?? Why are you being so mean to this smol bean white guy who displayed awful judgment many times over the years, including right now???? Ughh!!”

Do people not get what they’re saying is β€œdo not have standards”? β€œDo not change your mind when you learn new facts that are v troubling β€” & stfu when a person’s actions & explanations around those facts are shifty, hostile & display a lack of maturity?” 🀑

Okay, but this specific example doesn’t even address your original post, which is what I responded to and am still focusing on. I’m not talking about activity between protestors, and unfortunately I don’t have time to go astray this morning but I hope you get my earlier point and have a good day!

The water in that river doesn’t belong to people in a specific geographical area, and it certainly doesn’t belong to Google to run their destructive tech at further cost to wildlife and the environment in an overheated world. I’m not going to argue, just pointing out the shallowness of this view.

I think by my count that makes five carrier groups assigned to the Iran war, which is... about as many as the US can assign there at one time given current supply chains. They've maxed out naval resources on a war of choice. Just mindboggling in its stupidity.

This is just to say
I have savored the memories of when
We used to remix
The Williams poem
About stolen plums and not
The Yeats poem
About Armageddon

Forgive me
They were so sweet
And so old

I do have a smart phone, but this reminds me of when I was *this* close to being completely off Gmail and then went back to school, where they gifted me a new Gmail acct I must use. Then internship gifted me MS Office, which I had also ditched, along with an old laptop and another phone 😭

That is not the only way things get better, although I empathize with your underlying sentiment. I don’t want a system in which politicians are afraid they or their families will be murdered to be the norm. And yeah I know that’s where we are now, but that doesn’t make it okay.
