Housing is the killer. Housing needs to be cheaper. All home owners will need to take a hit for that to happen.

Just a heartbreaking story. But an important one.

Sailed to Maria Island a few years back. Great walks. Beautiful scenery, historical. Wombats everywhere.

Worth noting, it was the Labor govt that introduced laws to publish the gender pay gap of companies.
The Liberal/ National parties opposed this.
56% of employers reduced their gender pay gap since it publication.

Well I certainly didn't say Labor was shit. I said his instinct was poor in this case.

I think in this case, his instincts were poor. Poor when he played the media word game, poor with his apology.
But sure. Overall, better than the other mob.

Yeah, but then he had a chance to apologise and screwed that up.

I'm not an Albo hater. But he sure f*cked this one up.

Maybe that's something only Andrew Forrest can answer.

"He's very likeable." If you ignore the narcissism, the insults, the divisiveness, the corruption, the authoritarianism and the sexual assaults.
So likeable.

Unfortunately, there is gonna be a lot more of this before govts are forced to act. There needs to be an acknowledgement from all but especially home owners that house prices must come down.

This split on the right is good for Labor.
If One Nation leads in a close contest,
A large proportion of those Liberal voters will not be giving preferences to One Nation.
Victoria is not Qld.

Housing is the fault line imo. When it gets so bad that everyone knows someone homeless, when no one is shielded from homeless people visably cluttering our streets and parks.
When there is social disorder and it becomes politically untenable...
That's when politicians will act.

Thankyou East Australian current.
Sailed overnight Saturday from Coffs to Newcastle.
Anchored off Stockland for couple of days to recover... amongst the big ships.
Off to Pittwater tomorrow.

Sure, but that's the point. It's not about nuanced reality. It's about political perception.
Labor would face a huge backlash if they " showed compassion" regardless of choices these people made.
Labor have traded moral and legal responsibility for political safe ground.
Wrong but not stupid.

Is it stupid though?
Weak on terrorism faces a heavy political cost.
Wrong but not stupid.

I think this might be putting unreasonable expectations on Jason Claire.
I reckon the information environment has outpaced our psychological capacity to process it.
The problem seems structural rather than educational.
Plato complained about stupid people 2400 years ago.
