Horrified by the death of our Massachusetts neighbor Emmanuel Damas in ICE custody. He was denied medical care for months.

I’m sending his family my deepest condolences. A family who has been robbed of their brother & son.

Emmanuel is at least the tenth person to die in ICE custody this year.

ICE is tearing families apart and putting people in dangerous situations. Many immigrants—even children—are forced to defend themselves in deportation cases without a lawyer. The SHIELD Act would bolster immigrants’ access to legal support, so they don't have to face court alone.

The following words appear on a colorful Afro-futurist background with a picture of Patricio Manuel: “Patricio “Pat” Manuel (also known as “Cacahuate”). Patricio Manuel is a professional boxer whose career includes several barrier-breaking achievements, including being the first out transgender boxer, the most decorated amateur boxer to change gender divisions within USA Boxing, and being the first transgender man to beat a cisgender man in the amateur male division. In September 2018, he made history again when he became the first transgender boxer to compete in a professional boxing match in the U.S. and win. During a time when sports are a battleground for trans rights and dignity, Manuel is breaking barriers and paving the way for future Black trans athletes to be recognized, to be respected, and to win.”

Black trans futures are already here. Right now, Black trans leaders are building the foundation for a more liberated future by challenging transphobia and anti-Blackness through legislation, organizing, art, technology, and community.

As screenwriter of the Labubu movie I want to clear up some misconceptions. Yes, technically they do eat human flesh, but only necrotic tissue around wounds. Doctors use them to clean up injuries and promote positive health outcomes. Labubus are humanity’s allies, except for evil Labubus of course

Activism step 1: Identify local groups already working on the issue you want to work on.

Activism step 2: Join those groups and get involved. There may be a vetting process and it may take time, for everyone’s safety. Just be patient and build relationships. That’s the work.
