I am pro Iranian people. I stand with them against their own government’s repression AND against the imperial violence in the form of bombs dropped from the sky from Israel & the US who have already killed hundreds.

These are “low enrollment” majors but the classes are regularly at capacity. They changed the funding structure a few years ago here, switching the allocation from course enrollments to majors then blamed these departments for a structural, top-down change. This is entirely a political choice.

Climate injustice made an appearance at the Super Bowl last night. Most don't know that Puerto Rico struggles with reliable electricity due to systemic racism. The government refuses to invest in any real grid improvements, so lights will be kept on at resorts while Puerto Ricans sit in the dark.
A real problem rn: as USAID has retreated from pub health & as WHO is being defunded & cutting back, the Gates foundation has gained MORE influence. Govts & NGOs around the world will be even less likely to criticize Gates bc his (ill gotten) wealth is the last thing between life & death for them
