Good away support from @sheffieldwednesday.bsky.social today at the Rams. Shame such crap ownership has left them in this state. A good first half easily forgotten by an awful second half display from both sides. But 31000 loyal fans there @dcfc.co.uk so many missed chances 😬 big change needed Tues

Used to use the intro to check speaker location on TV! If you got it right that chopper flew through your room! Fabulous.

I went to N Spain to see the isolated population there. Lovely area. The eastern was in Hungary but only got one. Was concentrating on a Ural Owl at the time! Not been to Bialowieza yet - looks a great area πŸ‘

I’ve managed to see the Western and Eastern WB Peckers funny enough! Not easy though. I need 3 Toed as not been for them before. The odd Hawk Owl might be nice not to mention Stellers πŸ‘

Really useful that. Having just cleaned out last years box I often wonder who does the same for the nest hole in my apple tree that Great Tits use. The answer is nature does it then!

Drumming bird last week in NE has since moved on, 2nd record for the site. I think the writing is on the wall; last breeding pair in the Erewash valley gone. But, are birders just checking traditional sites? We have vast areas in the W not watched. Previous good habitat goes but do we overlook new?

Finally finished the new peregrine nest box today.
Just some clearing up, fitting cameras and a few minor tweaks.
Oh, plus an abseil to remove the sagging base of our old platform, of course.

Fab pics - stunning male. Your local ones? Was a good weekend for them here with finally a break in the weather! Saw 6 different birds at two locations. I’m delighted to see them!

Well I’ve been used to a closed, rotten version so I was happy! Maybe another scrape is planned but that spot was full of geese today. I guess the trees to the left help with screening and possibly wind?

The fab new Joe Jordan hide #Holkham stunning views over a hugely successful site. Unfathomable no’s of Lapwing, Wildfowl and Raptors plus Egrets. Made even better when a large flock of Barnacle Geese came over the Pines and settled in front (c120) + loads RWFGeese #norfolkbirding #ukbirding
