United States Completes WHO Withdrawal WASHINGTON —  January 22, 2026 — The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and the U.S. Department of State today announced the United States’ completion of its withdrawal from the World Health Organization (WHO) due to the organization's mishandling of the COVID-19 pandemic that arose out of Wuhan, China, its failure to adopt urgently needed reforms, and its inability to demonstrate independence from the inappropriate political influence of WHO member states.

The United States has officially withdrawn from the World Health Organization.

This is a shameful move that puts both Americans and people all over the world at greater risk from disease outbreaks, which require international collaboration to contain.

NYU researchers studied 3525 adults and found that 2 years after COVID, 80% who reported smell loss still had impaired function.

Some people with stomas can do anything and everything they want.

Others have their lives totally ruled by it.

It isn't just about the stoma itself, but also the underlying bowel condition(s) as well... A stoma doesn't necessarily cure those.

I wish i did not get news every day about how i am completely fucked healthwise for the rest of my life and instead maybe could read a single article about help, opportunities, ways forward

Because the reporting across outlets hasn’t mentioned it I want to stress that Justice Jackson referenced the courageous & resolute stance of federal judges J. Shelly Wright in Louisiana and Frank Johnson in Alabama who issued school desegregation orders in the face of “Massive Resistance” to Brown.

My “pain threshold” isn’t that high… pain is still painful.

It’s my pain tolerance that’s been built up by chronic and severe pain… so I can be in 8/10 pain but you’d never know it.

Doesn’t make the pain any less painful or debilitating though.
