Clemson WBB falls to Duke in ACC Tournament. Tigers now await NCAA fate Clemson’s 46 points in Friday’s loss to Duke were its second-lowest mark in ACC play and third-lowest of the season.

Not enough in the tank for Clemson women' basketball today in a 14-point loss to No. 1 seed Duke, but Shawn Poppie still believes his team has done enough to earn an NCAA Tournament bid.

On this women’s conference tournament weekend I gave to throw it back to 365 days ago and the most confounding piece of sports memorabilia I have ever seen:

Back home for ACC Tourney: Duluth grad Mykala Walker is Syracuse basketball GM DULUTH — Syracuse arrived for its second-round game at the ACC Women’s Basketball Tournament and largely followed the same routine as everyone else.

Also caught up with Syracuse General Manager Mykala Walker, a Duluth, Ga. native working in a newly created role as part of a bounceback season for the Orange:

That entire first half felt like Hannah Hidalgo was struggling to get to her spots or really get into the flow of the game and then you look up and she's got 14 points, five boards, three steals and a couple assists lol.

Strongly advocating for a WNBA style reset timeout to hit college basketball. Nothing wrong with advancing the ball but we don't need to stop the game for a minute every time a team wants to inbound from halfcourt in crunch time.

Ah yes, overtime in game one when you're there to cover a later game, the surest sign that it is in fact, March.

It's gonna be Sarah Strong and like, I get it, but I think if I had a WBB NPOY vote I'd go with Mikayla Blakes. There is just....nothing to do with her when she gets downhill.

Former Gwinnett standouts excited for ACC Basketball Tournament at home Catherine Alben has been on stage at Gas South Arena before. Like so many who attend Gwinnett County Public Schools, she graduated from high school by walking across the stage

"I could never have imagined it."

Talked to a few Gwinnett County natives about how unlikely and special a home conference tournament is for a league that has exclusively done this in the Carolinas for almost 50 years:

Duluth stop a rarity for ACC Women's Basketball Tournament When the Atlantic Coast Conference expanded in 2024, it became the only major collegiate athletics conference with a completely national footprint. The ACC’s 18 teams now go as far west

On the tournament itself coming to Duluth, some info on the student ticket program, the local high schools the teams will be practicing at and more:

No. 10 Louisville stays in ACC race with comfortable 69-50 win at Georgia Tech Elif Istanbulluoglu scored 18 points, Imari Berry added 13 and No. 10 Louisville coasted past Georgia Tech 69-50 in its final road game of the regular season.

Breezy win for the Cards tonight, and still a chance at a regular season ACC championship.

Cards up 36-24 at the half. The 20 Louisville points off 15 Georgia Tech turnovers are pretty much the beginning, middle and end here.

Nice whiplash after covering high school games the last two nights seeing the first shot go up, writing it down and then realizing I do not, in fact, have to stat every possession myself.

Great play by Werenski to find the space there. If there's an actual lesson from roster building it's that you need mobility and some skill on your backend. Felt like Canada was "Makar and six stationary player stoppers" and there you've got a third pairing D jumping into the rush and making a play.

22.02.2026 16:02 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0

Every American defenseman is more likely to hit a long stretch pass to create something than every Canadian defenseman not named Makar and I think they'll have an easier time finding a chance.

(Also it's really, really stupid we're deciding a gold medal like this lol)

22.02.2026 15:41 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0

On one hand Canada has all of the speed you could ever want, on the other hand USA has like five puck moving defenseman and that is how you find space and opportunities in what is obstensively a "who can generate and finish an odd man rush?" challenge.

In basketball 3v3 is its own entirely separate event with different rules and strategy, barely even the same sport. Hockey is like "what if we keep this different version of the sport in our pocket but only use it when it absolutely matters the most"

At the risk of being an old man yelling at a cloud 3-on-3 for the gold medal is bruuuuuuuuuuuutal.

I, like everyone else, finding out the Olympics use 3-on-3 overtime and am appalled. Why are we using the gimmick intended to end games faster when the stakes are this high! Play actual hockey!

Sacha Washington misses at the buzzer and Georgia pulls off the top-5 upset, 76-74. That's an enormous win for the Dawgs and dall but knocks Vandy out of a chance to win the SEC title now two games back with four to go.

A truly horrendous Vanderbilt possession with a couple clunky screens and no spacing, and Shea Ralph breaks up her own offense by calling another timeout with 3.3 seconds left. That was going nowhere fast.
