Oooo @londonmountainfestival.com online has begun!
Two scientists walk through a cluttered old-fashioned science laboratory. The female scientist says βAnalogue instruments! Paper records! Chalk boards! I thought you'd agreed to modernise the laboratory?β The male scientist replies βThat's what i'm so excited about: we have moved to cloud-based storage for our data!β They step out onto a balcony. She says: βPlease tell me you haven't built a library zeppelinβ This is exactly what he has done. It floats across the sky and he adds βIt's got a fax machine!β

Chickens
Some hooliganism in the run... But relatively speaking this is an improvement, they have only emptied some of their bedding

Reverend Jesse Jackson called on each of us to be heralds of change, to be messengers of hope; to step forward and say βSend meβ wherever we have a chance to make an impact.
How fortunate we were that Jesse Jackson answered that call. What a great debt we owe to him.
Enjoying sorting out the mini-dinosaurs before sitting down at the computer to deal with some fairly significant MAT pain in the backsideness.
I'm sure there are benefits to being in some MATs, but that doesn't seem to apply to the one I've been in.
However, the chickens are great π
Morning #teacher5oclockclub ! After a really good visit to another school yesterday, back at the data job today.
Start is a little earlier than planned as a) I forgot to shut the cat downstairs so b) she decided to walk up and down on me at 4am.
Going to be a day for tea β !
Here we go again! Short XC this morning at Grammarcombe with South West Mountain Biking. Kids categories have grown somewhat so should be some close racing.
And for the first time no cables between control and the finish line - new power bank.

Morning #teacher5oclockclub ! A data and meetings day today. Unfortunately it looks like a damp commute too.
Have a good day all β
FFT datalab might have something
It is now possible to get pretty complex with a bicycle!
Electronic gear shifting has certainly brought its own set of challenges.
That's slightly bonkers π
We switched to a 5G router with a cheap SIM in it. It's faster and cheaper than what we had before, and considerably faster for the money than the fibre deals that are now available on my street.
Usually 70-150mbs (which is fine) at Β£18 a month. Unlimited data.
Something the Government want you to forget...
This GOOD BOY ran onto the course during the Womenβs Cross-Country Skiing Team Sprint event, crossing the finish line and being automatically recorded by OMEGAβs photofinish camera π
Speed is not the solution to navigation problems - laz #BM100
Had a great evening at the Wild Night Run by Wild Running on #Dartmoor . Beautiful course with the middle section (open moor, broken terrain, discreet marking) really playing to my strengths.
Great fun!

Memories of trying to print race results on a portable printer on windows after forgetting to do battle with the drivers the day before....
I hand wrote out the results.
Good luck!
The Educator's Guide to Olympic Sports. It's a hand-lettered graphic with small illustrations depicting each activity. Speed grading (pen, graded paper, stopwatch), competitive disinfecting (desk and sanitizer), meeting marathon (planner with meetings scheduled all day), cell phone shot put (phone with a dotted line as if thrown), one-trip-to-the-car bag carry (4 grocery bags).
Which event would you win gold in? π
Morning #teacher5oclockclub ! Day of reports and excel ahead.
Have a good day all β
Morning #teacher5oclockclub ! Only slight rain on the ride in, a completely dry commute feels somewhat mythical at present.
Odd assortment of kit for today's lessons - a lot of cake, copper wire, a variety of tools and if my Blue Peter skills are up to it, a cardboard nuclear reactor #thisisAP
Hope it goes well!
Morning #teacher5oclockclub ! It's a three site day so in early to get jobs done at site 1 before maybe teaching at site 2. Then onto exam entries issues at site 3.
Going to involve a fair bit of tea β
Have a good day all!
Router optimisation for race timing number 521 done.... (Maybe a slight exaggeration but it definitely feels like it).
Should solve the problems from today.... I hope! Times were correct and everything was recorded, but couldn't get the information out to riders as fast as I would have liked.

New WiFi adapter
Soggy Bottom round 2, living up to it's name today. Kids races are much busy than normal, which is good! New WiFi is holding up too

Spent the best part of an hour troubleshooting a network, getting quite annoyed with some hardware.
Turns out it wasn't the hardware, I had left a static IP on my laptop from a previous job π
True π ! I have a long term plan to plumb in a couple of others, delayed because typically I want to create a complex system of valves to ensure they don't waste any water (probably over complicated and will go horribly wrong, but fun to build!)
It's a bit damp.... β
At least all the water butts are full
