Hey Wednesday. That's chapter 10 done. Had to go back to 9 when I realized there was a section I forgot to change. Undoubtedly that will continue to happen. When you're reading through the ms, you tend to read along, not look for the bit you have to change. Then you review your notes and go "oops"

Morning Monday. Didn't get any work done on the weekend as my cousin was having an important birthday. She's a leap baby, so technically she's only had 17 birthdays, but that doesn't reflect the years she's put in. Hope all of you had good weekends too.

Morning #FoodFriday. Some of our anniversary lunch. Foie de Oca, wood-roasted artichokes with yema, solomillo con foie, crema de chocolate con sal y aove. I refrain from adding my steak tartare, in case of non-meat eaters.

Hey Thursday. Thank you to everyone who wished us a happy anniversary. I have photos from lunch, but I'm saving them for tomorrow's #FoodFriday.
In other news, the new scene for chapter 8 is now finished. I just have to see exactly where to put it.

Good morning Wednesday. It's our anniversary today, so here are a couple of photos of the day. Yes it was snowing (Canada, February, you do the math) and yes, Paul really wore his hair that longer, and occasionally longer. Paul's mother's dress, and fur stoll.

Hey Tuesday. Not much work is going to be done this morning as we have appointments with the dentist Just a check-up, but it's with a new dentist. The old one disappeared. No, seriously, there one day and gone the next.

Morning Monday. It's been a busy week, and I just realized that I haven't been posting. The edit of Artefact has reached the slowdown stage, where actual new stuff is going on, and has to be integrated with the old stuff. This week will also be busy but I promise to keep you all in the loop.

Must have been Julie. I know the place, but don't recall mentioning it to you.

I am more proud that you didn't throw someone else out of the window.

Hey Thursday. Today we're supposed to have a day with very little rain. We'll see. In the meantime I'm barreling along with the rewrite of Artefact. You know, adding in scenes I never noticed were missing. Luna thinks some are hidden behind the oranges.

Morning Monday. Happy to report that while it's still raining, there is no likelihood of our floating away. The city of Granada very luckily is not in an area of danger. They say the rain is tapering off (ie. no new storms), but as I say, it's till raining.

Morning Friday. Getting a lot of good work done on the edit/rewrite of Artefact, so that's something. We've had so much rain this week, there's not much else to do. Luna the Cat isn't sure whether or not to be amused.

Morning Monday. So I got notes back on Artefact, and I've started the rewrite. I'm at that stage where part of my brain is still thinking about the new project, and I think of a fix/scene that doesn't exist in this book. A few more days and I'll be focused on the rewrite.

I'm confused. If you don't have the proper ID, all you have to do is pay $45 and they let you on the plane?

Here's a small #FoodFriday. A couple of tapas from El Albergue, a small, traditional bar a little off the beaten track. This two tapas, bacalaudilla (the fish) and callos (tripe) are very traditional for this time of year.

I have to make my own candied peel here in Spain. They have candied fruit, and candied flowers, but peel? Not so much. Luckily it's fairly straightforward.

Seriously! All of this can put wind under otherwise stagnant sails.

Ain't it the truth.

Hey Tuesday. Naturally, after mentioning progress on the new project, I got absolutely nothing done yesterday. This is known as "jinxing oneself," or, as we say in Spanish "lo has gafeado."

Morning Monday. Well, I've had more productive weeks, but chapter 1 of the new project is well underway. I'm averaging around 500 words per day, but it feels like a lot more.

Is it Robbie Burns Day, or am I mistaken?

So it's time to go to bed and I can't find my pajamas anywhere. I know I took clean ones out of the closet, so where are they? Paul says "Um, look down, you're already wearing them." I look down and sure enough. I blame the weather.

For reasons, I’ve had to pull out of this years’ Rainforest Writers Retreat. But that means there is at least one space available!

Morning Monday. For some reason I'm finding myself distracted lately, with the result that I haven't been posting much. I'll try to do better. Meanwhile, the new project is coming along slowly - as these things tend to do at the beginning, when you're still at the "testing the idea" stage.

Morning Tuesday. We ushered in the New Year with a cold - both of us at the same time, lots of fun - so, off to a slow start. On the other hand, while I´m waiting to hear back about the ms I submitted, I'm starting a new book, so with luck I'll be reporting progress on that in the next few weeks.

This was our view on New Year's eve. The kiosks were selling pottery and art of all kinds.

Hey Wednesday. So, the eve of the new year. We're going out to a friends for a small get-together, and the grape eating at midnight.
