London, you are looking very pretty tonight
London, you are looking very pretty tonight
On today's Pray as You Go, the first ever PAYG, done 20 years ago on Ash Wednesday 2006, is replayed. It's utterly beautiful and worth 12minutes of your time

A tin with glass lid showing homemade mince pies inside
Right Christmas can happen now
A Tay of home made mince pies on a cooling rack with icing sugar over the top
Finally feeling a little better and managed to make mince pies
I only managed 4
Picture show an Advent calendar with refillable boxes for each day. Two boxes are in front of the calendar and are filled to over flowing with chocolates
Bit behind with the advent calendar (flu). If we want to catch up, this is today’s ‘portion’.
Seem to have developed mild flu (only mild as flu jab clearly working); but feeling awful.
Need to work out just what I have energy for before Christmas.
Don’t think I will be infectious by weekend. But I still have 5 services to take.
Send strength
Two British short hair cats sitting in a hallway next to a scratching post and a cardboard box
I have these two mischief makers as my work companions today
What a great self description. Congrats.
I have sooo been there (unfortunately more than once). 😳
You have the look of a man who is concentrating very hard (on not puking).
Sorry that the memories will be the stomach rather than the celebrations
A letter from the newly elected president of Ireland, Catherine Connolly to mark Transgender Day of Remembrance. While the greeting and the signoff are an Irish, the English text reads “I would like to extend my warmest wishes to all in the transgender community, your families and friends, as you gather this evening for this year's Transgender Day of Remembrance. Today we pause to honour those whose lives have been cut short by horrific acts of violence or hatred. Their memory calls on each of us to challenge prejudice wherever it arises and to build a society rooted in respect and understanding. This year's gathering carries particular significance too as we mark the tenth anniversary of Ireland's Gender Recognition Act. That milestone stands as a testament to the courage and perseverance of transgender people and their allies who worked tirelessly for recognition, equality, and the simple affirmation of identity. Yet it also reminds us that the work of safeguarding dignity and ensuring genuine inclusion remains ongoing.”
In one of her first public actions as the newly elected Uachtarán na hÉireann (president of Ireland) Catherine Connolly has written a public letter of solidarity on Trans Remembrance Day. It is a very promising start.
6 newborn British Shorthair kittens in a variety of colours.
One of the previous litters
Ha, he’s had a vasectomy. But she doesn’t know that. They have previously had several litters together and they were indeed cute.
Two British shorthair cats on brown sofas look toward the camera. One is ginger and white, the other grey with large amber eyes.
The lovers have settled down.
(Both belong to our neighbours and don’t actually live here)
Crafting box with 25 drawers has been covered with red Christmas paper and the front of each drawer has a large cream with gold number for each day of Advent. Inside each drawer, hidden, is christmasy chocolate. The central box has a gold love heart rather than a number for Christmas Day.
Advent calendar completed and filled with chocolate balls wrapped to look like Brussel sprouts and Christmas puddings.
Household is ready for the countdown to the big day.
The box was already done, but plain wood. So I’ve covered it myself. I think it was supposed to be a crafting/diy storage box for beads or screws or something.
So I have repurposed it for chocolate!
Shallow square box with 25 individual boxes arranged in rows of 5. Boxes are covered alternatively with dark red paper and patterned dark red paper. There is a green frame work inside the main box holding each individual box
Been doing a little crafting. Decided to make the household an adult advent calendar that can be filled with chocolate.
Will be attaching the numbers on each drawer soon and filling with treats. But so far so good
Off to ‘interview’ a second person in the space of a week.
Hopefully we will be able to appoint this person as well.
(Things I never realised I would be doing in my job)
She’s on heat and has come to visit her bonded partner who usually hangs out at my place. They have been very ‘noisy’ over the last 36 hours together.
Grey British short hair cat sat on a brown sofa looking exceptionally content
New (temporary) member of the household
A black cat staring into the camera whilst lying on a cream stripped duvet
And this is Bugsy, also the same neighbours cat. Bugsy shares his time between the two houses. He is cute but as an old man he can also be quite grumpy.
Obi’s not the brightest cat, but he is very sweet. He belongs to our neighbours but lives with us most of the time (with their consent). He tells me off quite a lot especially if I have worked too many hours.
Ginger and white cat lying on the floor with a blue and white cotton dressing gown wrapped around him. He looks like he is in a sleeping bag.
Obi keeping warm. I hope you manage to as well
Not again! Sending huge sympathy
Today’s job was consolidate two houses into one. A rather tight squeeze but job done.
Chippy tea to recover with.
Tomorrow we start finding homes for everything - wish us luck
Back view of a removal van showing boxes packed to the ceiling.
Spending the day moving stuff from one end of the country to the other. Hurrah for professional removers who are fitter than I am.
Hurrah for Sarah!
What a great date
